NRL preview of the Round 3 Monday night fixture between the Cronulla Sharks and the Manly Sea Eagles.

SHARKS: Nathan Gardner, Stewart Mills, Ben Pomeroy, Colin Best, John Williams, Todd Carney, Jeff Robson, Bryce Gibbs, Isaac De Gois, Ben Ross, Jeremy Smith, Jayson Bukuya, Paul Gallen. Interchange (from): Andrew Fifita, Wade Graham, John Morris, Anthony Tupou, Mark Taufua, Sam Tagataese
SEA EAGLES: Brett Stewart, Michael Oldfield, Jamie Lyon (c), Dean Whare, David Williams, Kieran Foran, Daly Cherry-Evans, Jason King (c), Matt Ballin, Brent Kite, Anthony Watmough, Tony Williams, Daniel Harrison. Interchange: Jamie Buhrer, Vic Mauro, Darcy Lussick, Tim Robinson
THE SHARKS HAVEN’T BEATEN THE SEA EAGLES since Round 1 2008 and they will have to do so if they are to rack up their first win of the season.
Manly however are 2 from 2 this season and thanks to the sensational Daly Cherry-Evans they are looking already to become a major force in 2012. In their forwards Manly possess the rampaging Tony Williams who seemingly flattens anyone that dares to get in his way and there is already talk of the possibility of Williams playing State of Origin this year.
But Manly won’t have it all their own way tonight after the Sharks managed to rack up some impressive stats last week despite losing the match. The Sharks recorded the most line breaks by any team in Round 2 and were 3rd best for least missed tackles.
I’m sticking with Manly to outclass the Sharks and record their 3rd win of the year.
Chance of winning: Sharks 44%, Sea Eagles 55%, Draw 1%
