The Sportingbet Last Man Standing $50,000 Spring Racing Competition is back for 2012. Participation is free for Sportingbet members and no deposit is required.
Each round you make one selection from a number of feature Thoroughbred races. If your selected horse places you move on to the next round. If your horse doesn’t place you’re eliminated from the competition. If you’re still standing by Round 5, which commences on Melbourne Cup Day, you’ll be required to pick a horse to win for the final four rounds.
If you’re the last man standing by the Sandown Classic on November 17 then you will pocket $50,000 in cash. If no one makes it to the final round, the person who made the last correct selection will be awarded the prize money. If there is more than one last man standing then the prize money will be shared.
The Last Man Standing Spring Racing commences on Caulfield Guineas Day, Saturday the 13th of October 2012 and runs through to Sandown Classic Day, Saturday the 17th of November 2012. Registration closes on Saturday the 13th of October at 12PM AEDT. The first selection window opens on October the 11th.

The Competition is split into two separate stages:
i. Part 1: Horse to Place selections from round 1 to round 4 (featured races from October 13, 2012 up to and including November 3, 2012).
ii. Part 2: Horse to Win selections from round 5 to round 8 (featured races from November 6, 2012 up to and including the completion of the Sandown Classic on November 17, 2012).
You may change your selections as many times as you wish prior to cut off time.

If there is more than one race in a round, you only have to select a horse from one of those races.

Terms & conditions
- The Spring Racing Last Man Standing Competition is open to all Australian residents over the age of 18. The competition will commence on Saturday 13 October, 2012 and will conclude on Saturday 17 November, 2012. The winner or winners will be officially announced on November 23, 2012.
- Cut off time for selections for the first round of races will be 12:30pm (AEDST) on October 13, 2012. The cut off time for selections for each subsequent round of races will be 12 noon (AEDST) on the day that the races feature.
- The winner or winners will be required to provide the Promoter with a valid Australian bank account in order for the Promoter to award the prize.
