Throughout history, there have been trainers and thoroughbreds that have eclipsed the sport and made the race a momentous occasion. Think of Seabiscuit and his back-to-back wins. It is an exciting time. 2015 shouldn’t be any different. In the lead up to the Spring Racing Carnival, Cox Plate in 2015 and the Melbourne Cup, we take a look back at some of the most compelling races that 2015 has had to offer.
An exciting finish to the Emperor’s prize in Japan.
The horse ‘Golden Ship’ stole the show at the Emperor’s prize horse race in Japan. If you watch the video, you will see that Golden Ship takes the win after running towards the back off the pack for the majority of the race.It looks like the horse that is leading has taken the win, however the strength, power and endurance of Golden Ship and the other horses close in sharply to take the prize.
Another horse to watch in this race is Fame Game whom comes in a close second.
Ascot Derby win for a Trip to Paris.
In a similar encounter to the horse race in Japan, this race in Ascot in England, the horse Trip to Paris bravely holds off the other horses challenging him for the win. Towards the end of the video, you will see the contest on the home stretch as the horse strides away by two lengths and continues in stride to take out the victory.

And not just in terms of the weather, but the competitiveness and the stakes that are being raised in the racing community as the horse owners and jockeys aspire to win the $6 million purse on offer. Grand Marshal nails Who Shot Thebarman at the Sydney Cup.
In one of the most exciting races on Australian soil this year, Grand Marshal pipped Who Shot Thebarman to take out the Sydney Cup. The horse, which led for about 93% of the race, produced one of the greatest finishes leading into the final turn. The horse flew home blowing the field away and closing in on another horse that was around 4 lengths in front and in the end, won it by a nose. Watch the video below to see the full footage.

An interesting run on the Sunshine Coast by Winx.
The Sunshine Coast Guineas produced an interesting effort from Winx. You will see in the video below how the horse turns on the turbo blasters and zips from last place to take out the Victory with a storming run down the home stretch. It’s a great example of watching a jockey and the horse time the right execution when going for home.
