Heavens Above shouldn’t be $16. She savaged the line two back in the leader dominated Golden Pendant, getting the better of First Seal late. First Seal has since won the Tristarc while Heavens Above tackled the Epsom and was hardly disgraced. Tipping Heavens Above would’ve given the Tristarc a shake had she gone that way. Danish Twist is on trial at the mile but being a relation to Happy Trails should see it out. Don’t Doubt Mamma possesses a lethal turn of foot and must be respected too. Including Dixie Blossoms and Whispering Brook in the quaddie.

Race 8 – Cantala Stakes
He’s Our Rokkii has won five straight and comes off a Group One win in the Toorak. He is flying and the $7.50 about a horse in such a purple patch of form appeals. The United States was too classy for his rivals in the Crystal Mile and will no doubt figure in the finish here too. Palentino was awful in the Epsom but he loves Flemington. Must be included in the quaddie in the event he bounces straight back. Voodoo Lad and Hopfgarten the knockouts.

Race 5 – Coolmore Stud Stakes
Clearly the best edition of the race. EXTREME CHOICE was a dominant winner against the older sprinters first-up. He’ll only improve for the run and he can race much closer up the straight. He’ll be tough to beat. ASTERN can run outstanding late sectionals. If he can stay with them he’ll be launching late. STAR TURN comes off a soft win against the older sprinters, he’ll be hard to get past and FLYING ARTIE, CAPITALIST and RUSSIAN REVOLUTION all have some claims but the top three look the main players.
Race 6 – Myer Classic
FIRST SEAL took a huge step 2nd-up where she was strong through the line and she’s still got more upside. Well in at the set weights and a perfect run, she’ll take some beating. EURO ANGEL has always promised to be up to this grade and she was dominant last start. With some luck from the gate she’ll go close. HEAVENS ABOVE and DIXIE BLOSSOMS both bring strong Sydney form lines and DON’T DOUBT MAMMA has to be included, she’s flying and loves this track.
Race 7 – Victoria Derby
The barrier draw has made SACRED ELIXIR a short priced favourite and he deserves to be. Set for this all along and peaking at his fourth run in. He’s clearly the one to beat. CAPTAIN DUFFY could go around over the odds. He’ll have no trouble with the trip and he gets a perfect run just off the pace. INFERENCE would have been a real danger had he drawn a better barrier but he still has to be included. BEACH LIFE, SO SI BON, SWEAR and ROCKETEER all go in exotics. It’s an open race behind the favourite.
Race 8 – Cantala Stakes
MACKINTOSH was only 2nd-up when only beaten on the line in the Epsom and he looks well placed on the fresh side staying at the mile. If he has any luck slotting in just off pace he’ll take some catching. THE UNITED STATES will only improve on his good win last week. He’ll love getting onto the big track. HE’S OUR ROKKII goes into everything and the stable mate SEABURGE isn’t far off our best three year olds. He’ll run it strong with no weight. LE ROMAIN, MCCREERY and PALENTINO all have claims in a deep race.
