Match Comments
Middlesbrough vs West Brom |
As you will see, reading through this report there is not much value around this weekend and we kick off with a game that has been fairly priced. There are no clear indications and the prices look good so probably best to leave alone.
Burnley vs Leicester |
Looking at the stats this has to be the value selection of the season so far. Burnley are the 4th best home team this season and Leicester are the second worst away team so we have no idea why Leicester are favourites. We don’t think above 3 for Burnley will last long as they have clearly been mispriced here
Sunderland vs Tottenham |
As you would expect from the prices here, Sunderland are value when looking at the overall record. Interestingly though, the 45 similar games paint a different picture, neither team as a value prospect. Spurs are too short to back here.
Arsenal vs Watford |
Backing home teams at very low odds is fraught with danger as seen in the Liverpool v Swansea match. There can be nothing for but value for Watford here but it’s a tall order to ask them to win, looking at last years game and recent form. The 16.00 price tag is tempting, however.
Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace |
This game looks to have been priced about right. Palace need some points quickly now and previously they have had a better record at away than at home, but there is no value here.
Swansea vs Southampton |
There are mixed and weak signals for this game but looking at how recent head to heads have gone and the similar games records would show some value for under 2.5 goals at 1.89.
Liverpool vs Chelsea |
These types of games can really go any way and its hard to select something with real value. The betting markets look to have this about right with some small value perhaps on Chelsea.
West Ham vs Man City |
West Ham are the selection here. Man Cities away record is mixed and they should not be priced at odds on given their inconsistencies on the road. In similar games the home team have won 30% of games which equates to odds of 3.33.
Stoke vs Everton |
Another game that looks to be priced about right with a small amount of value on Stoke who put in an impressive performance against Man Utd in the last round.
Man United vs Hull |
This is an interesting game. Man Utd are shoe ins here according to the betting markets. Looking at the recent from and H2Hs you would have to agree. Man Utd are however too short with the home team winning 73% of games and being priced at 83%. The handicap is probably the way to play this with the away team winning 79% of available points when given a 2 goal lead
