ANTONIO GIUSEPPE impressive at Rosehill resuming and his effort in Sky High was better than it looks on paper. Set to bounce back here with the 2000m run under his belt. HARTNELL put in a bad one last start. Chased home Winx in the Apollo resuming two runs back and has to be given another chance. THE UNITED STATES looked a run short in the Australian Cup last week. Won this race last year and right in the mix again. HE’S OUR ROKKII close up all three runs this preparation but arguably a touch disappointing in the Ajax last week. Maybe the step up in distance is what he needs.
Race 5:
WINX ticked the heavy track box when far too good in the Chipping Norton and hard to see her colours being lowered here. Sit back and enjoy. LE ROMAIN tough effort to wear down CHAUTAUQUA in the Canterbury Stakes to make it two from two this preparation. Even better suited stepping up in distance and looks the quinella horse. HAURAKI finished his race off okay resuming in the Canterbury Stakes. Epsom winner last preparation and the step up to 1500m ideal second-up. CHAUTAUQUA terrific in the Canterbury Stakes when nailed on the line last start. 1500m on heavy ground new territory but too good to dismiss.
Race 6:
PRIZED ICON hit the line strongly when runner-up in the Australian Guineas. The Victoria Derby winner in the spring ready to win third-up here. INFERENCE found the fast lane on the outside fence to come from last and win the Randwick Guineas. All three wins have been on wet tracks so likely to get conditions to suit again. COMIN’ THROUGH close up all three runs this preparation. Should be right at his peak fourth-up and looking for the step up in distance. SEABURGE just over two-lengths from the winner in the Australian Guineas last start. Runner-up in the Group I Emirates Stakes in the Spring this trip and right in the mix third-up here.
Race 7:
SHE WILL REIGN explosive in her first three wins and lost no admirers with her second in the Reisling when the winner found the fast lane. Expecting her to bounce right back here. HOUTZEN could not have been more impressive in her four Queensland wins. Just a case of how much work she has to do from a wide gate but she has handled every task placed before her to date. TREKKING hit the line strongly when runner-up in the Black Opal resuming. Plenty of scope for improvement second-up and will be getting home hard. CATCHY charged home late to make remain unbeaten in the Blue Diamond. Whether she can produce the form on a wet track a query but hard to knock the winning form.
Race 8:
ENGLISH after missing a place all four runs last preparation looked to be right back to her best winning the Challenge first-up. Hopefully the edge won’t be off here and if that’s the case is the one to beat again. REDZEL Just missed resuming in the Challenge and gets a nice weight drop here. Expected to be right in the finish again. MUSIC MAGNATE struggled in the heavy ground in the Canterbury Stakes. Impressive return in the Expressway two runs back and has to be given another chance back in distance. RUSSIAN REVOLUTION resumes on the back of successive trial wins at Randwick. Has won four from five and could be the surprise packet here.
