Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:
Race 6:
This is JESTER HALO’s chance to win a city race. She’s been gallant in defeat at her past two starts against this class of mare. Both times the winner has followed her into the race with softer runs. And one of those winners, SHARING, is an obvious danger. The outside draw is a concern but she’s going so well that she only needs a little luck in the relatively small field to be in the finish. MAMZELLE TESS has obviously returned as good as last time in. She could get a soft run on speed. Concede chances to the Waller trained pair, OVERSTEP and DIAPASON.
Selections 5 Jester Halo, 4 Sharing, 1 Mamzelle Tess, 7 Diapason
Race 7:
BARBEQUE brings to Melbourne some solid NSW form that should measure up strongly here. He finished behind Island Missile last time, who subsequently tested Bella Martini in the Gosford Guineas. CAO CAO hasn’t had much go right so far in two runs back but suspect he’s going well. Rolling along on speed at 1400m might be a scenario that suits him. ONEHUNDRED PERCENT was strong through the line last week behind Nature Strip. The stable are keen to see him at 1400m and I can see why after last week. INDIAN THUNDER has had a long prep but continues to hold form. Most can run well here.
Selections 3 Barbeque, 4 Cao Cao, 1 Onehundred Percent, 2 Indian Thunder
Race 8:
Good race. TSHAHITSI did more than enough in the Standish first up. He’s won 6 races at 1400m and I’d suggest goes better with a run under his belt. WYNDSPELLE finished up with a Group 1 placing at the end of his last prep. Fresh here with some genuine speed he’s going to be suited at 1400m. DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR strips fitter for his sound return at Flemington. CHAMOIS ROAD will run his usual honest race and be thereabouts. PURE PRIDE is capable of better with the benefit of a first-up run and the likelihood of genuine speed.
Selections 2 Tshahitsi, 5 Wyndspelle, 3 Dollar For Dollar, 7 Chamois Road
Race 9:
MORTON’S FORK looks ready to win after three solid performances back this prep as a gelding. After a disappointing autumn prep he looks back on track. WIIDGEE TURF is obviously a strong danger. The drop to 56kg is the key here. JACQUINOT BAY seems to be the likely leader again, which will make him tough to run down. PLOT THE COURSE should be ready to find his best now after two runs back. He did improve second up and another step forward will see him in the finish. KHUTULUN has a trifecta chance.
Selections 4 Morton’s Fork, 2, Jacquinot Bay, 8 Plot the Course
Race 6:
Can’t imagine one of the top two not winning. SHARING won at big odds last start at Flemington on a soft track and three of four wins have come from dry ground, a close top selection. JESTER HALO has been running well this campaign winning twice and placing in all other outings, right in this. DIAPASON all wins have come when faced with dry ground and regarded as a strong finisher, the real danger in the race. MAMZELLE TESS last start winner at Caulfield and rates highly with Jye McNeil aboard, could upset.
Race 7:
CAO CAO finished midfield last start at Caulfield and should race on the speed, the testing material. ONEHUNDRED PERCENT 2 wins from three attempts this campaign and generally races near the speed, sneaky chance. BARBEQUE a winner at first outing this prep and in the money last start running third at Randwick, capable of getting into the money. MR MONEY BAGS last start winner at Flemington and two wins from five attempts this campaign, place chance.
Race 8:
DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR 5 from seven wins have been in the dry and has good early speed, serious player. CHAMOIS ROAD 5 of nine wins have come from dry ground and has shown early speed in races to date, place chance. SEABURGE resumes from a 13 week spell and placed when trialling at Tatura, capable of getting into the money. TSHAHITSI doesn’t take many to get going winning three when fresh and ran two lengths back from the winner last start at Flemington when resuming, not the worst.
Race 9:
WIDGEE TURF winner of three in a row after last start win at Caulfield and drawn perfectly, key chance. MORTON’S FORK has two placings from three runs this prep and came on strong when just beaten last start at Randwick, place chance. SOHOOL can’t knock the form winning two in a row at Flemington and Sandown, strong place chance. JACQUINOT BAY gave nothing else a chance to win last start at Flemington and expected to settle on speed, not the worst.

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:
Race 6:
Main pace from 1 and 9. 3 will try to be handy. We have to go back to late 2016 for GIRL SUNDAY’s latest win but her efforts short of stakes class since show she has not dropped her quality too much if at all. Recent trials (the latest just a jog round) are encouraging. O’RACHAEL has been back to trial and done so quite well (up on-pace, kicked on to win it) since her latest run. MOSS TRIP the one with scope to adapt to this level. Avdulla and 53 means she is a real chance.
Selections 3 O’Rachael, 11 Moss Trip, 2 No Interest
Race 7:
5 and 4 probably lead out. Just have a look at these first-uppers. They really do seem to hint at the Autumn ahead. Given ENDLESS DRAMA resumed last prep with a 3rd behind Winx/Hartnell he is not exactly difficult to find here. Sure he was a well held 3rd behind those two gallopers but can I point out that they are not here and he is. GEORGE PATTON lightly raced and raws to see every chance wherever Avdulla wants to put him. He has trialled as pleasingly as ENDLESS DRAMA and should make a fine fist of things in Sydney. LANCIATO and SUPREME EFFORT both flying and 3rd-up so not denying them some chance.
Selections 3 Endless Drama, 8 George Patton, 7 Lanciato, 6 Supreme Effort
Race 8:
6 to lead 10,5,1. EMPEROR’S WAY really let down impressively to win a similar assignment a fortnight ago. Consistent and should hold up; it’s doubtful that a 2.5 kilo rise in the weights will faze him too much. ATLANTIC FOX might have to settle for second best again. Speaking of which, HUNTER JACK is here as well (if indeed he has taken this option). Crosses up, rolls along, can be right there at the end as well. GET ON THE GRANGE is going the right way about his prep. Should be just about ready now. And NOTHING BOX? Well, please yourself there.
Selections 7 Emperor’s Way, 10 Atlantic Fox, 1 Get on the Grange
Race 9:
Speed from 5,7,9,10,12. Hardly brimming with confidence in the last but PEDWAY looks well placed up in class/down in weight and likely to find the front. Was close-up to ROSE OF MAN two back and he has been only one part of solid form through that race. DIFFICULT TO GET on a quick turnaround finds the right trail here (probably box-seating). MY MAHER sound enough on return although the winner and runner-up did come from behind her. Fitter today. LOVERBOY CHARLIE unlucky last time but has a better record at 1000m than 1100m.
Selections 5 Pedway, 7 Difficult to Get, 8 My Maher
Race 6:
MOSS TRIP bolted in last start at Kembla when first up and known to be strong late, hard to go past. THE PINNACLE resumes from a 36 week spell and fitter for multiple trial runs, looks threatening. O’RACHAEL Has trialled and won since last race 28 days ago, place best. GRETNA only just missed last start, finishing a length back from the winner at Randwick when first up and should race on the speed, not the worst.
Race 7:
LANCIATO made ground late to win last start at Randwick and drawn perfectly, has solid claims. SUPREME EFFORT narrowly beaten when heavly backed last start at Gosford and all eight wins have come in the dry, don’t treat lightly. OXFORD POET has shown early speed in races to date and has won three times at Rosehill before, could upset. VOILIER surprised punters to win at long odds last start at Randwick and rates highly with Jay Ford aboard, in with a chance.
Race 8:
Hard to see anything upsetting the top two choices. EMPEROR’S WAY has been running well this campaign winning twice and placing in all other outings, a close top selection. ATLANTIC FOX drawn the rails and has three placings from four runs this prep, hard to hold out. NOTHING BOX has a lot of early speed and three from four wins have been in the dry, each-way claims. GAMBLESTOWN amongst the placegetters last start running third at Randwick and has four placings from 11 runs this prep, looks threatening.
Race 9:
SATIRICAL MAGIC looking to make it four in a row after another win at Canterbury last start and draws to do no work, genuine contender. DANISH LACE looking for a hatrick after winning two in a row at Gilgandra and Narromine, could threaten. MY MAHER came on to finish midfield last start at Randwick when first up and won at Nowra in only second-up attempt, don’t dismiss. PEDWAY just missed as favourite last start at Canterbury. Winner at Gosford and placed once this campaign, in with a chance.
