Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:
Race 6:
4 leads (if jumps). 1,7,10,11 handy. Difficult to miss run of BRAVE SMASH in Orr, that last 100m was just outstanding! TOSEN STARDOM was backed heavy to win that race but had torrid run and didn’t pull-up well, drawn for much better run! Assume stable have him 100%. LORD OF THE SKY worked in run there & was only beaten late. MR SNEAKY loomed/ didn’t finish off. Many told me MIGHTY BOSS should have won, for mine, others were stronger over line. SHOWTIME is the left-fielder. Terrific return beating home Global Glamour (huge last week in Sydney) and easily beat Holy Snow/ Mighty Boss in Spring
Selections 11 Showtime, 3 Brave Smash, 1 Tosen Stardom, 4 Lord of the Sky
Race 7:
13 leads 9,10 from 1, 2, 6, 8 then 12,14? Formlines a raffle so using older sprinters as guide. PRAIRIE FIRE found 1000m sharp on debut behind ENNIS HILL but ran 32.9 last 600m (home 11.28). Gun older sprinter Crystal Dreamer was home 33/11.24. Prairie Fire looked super at 1100m with blinkers! Advantage him at 1200m? LONG LEAF beat OOHOOD in November, similar time to Crystal Dreamer. Preview win rated well. OOHOOD wins both lead-up runs for mine with luck. Closing splits were comparable with Booker/Merchant Navy on day. PLAGUE STONE improves lengths! KINKY BOOM great on debut. QAFILA roughie?
Selections 4 Prairie Fire, 16 Oohood, 1 Long Leaf, 8 Plague Stone
Race 8:
SPEED: 1,2,3,8,9 mainly. Stack of others can be handy. RUSSIAN REVOLUTION is unbeaten fresh and trialled very well in Sydney, go back two preps and he beat Redzel when fresh. He beat Heatherly at the start of last campaign. BONS AWAY went to a new level last prep and ran terrific splits to roll Brave Smash here in Sept. His trial was outstanding! SHE WILL REIGN won in good time fresh, her Moir Stks win over SHEIDEL (past winner of this race) and Russian Revolution was excellent, not easy for her at the weights is all. CATCHY and BOOKER are 1-All, both go in!
Selections 17 Catchy, 2 Russian Revolution, 16 She Will Reign, 11 Bons Away
Race 9:
SPEED: 2 may lead 3 with 1, 6 handy. HARTNELL won what was a messy Orr Stakes but loved his will to win. SINGLE GAZE lost momentum at a vital stage then railed through to just miss him. ABBEY MARIE wasn’t clear until 75m from home. She then flashed at the line. At her latest second-up run she tested Bonneval and that mare then beat Hartnell. HARLEM has beaten Abbey Marie. GAILO CHOP beat Harlem and LORD FANDANGO fresh, giving them weight.
Selections 10 Abbey Marie, 1 Hartnell, 2 Gailo Shop, 9 Single Gaze
Race 6:
Looks a toss up between the top two selections. BRAVE SMASH ran on strong to finish on the winner’s heels last start in the C.F. Orr Stakes and placed three times at Caulfield but been unable to get a win, genuine contender. MR SNEAKY has won twice at Caulfield before and placed when fresh, consider. MIGHTY BOSS couldn’t hold on and just missed last start in the C.F. Orr Stakes when resuming, each-way claims. TOSEN STARDOM winner of two Group I races and four of seven wins have come from dry ground, in with a chance.
Race 7:
Looks a very wide open race with many last start winners. KINKY BOOM backed up her impressive trial to win very comfortably on debut at Caulfield. She will take a power of beating. OOHOOD hasn’t had much luck this preparation. She is yet to miss a place in three runs and will be strong late. ENBIHAAR has won both races so far and has good early speed to overcome its wide barrier draw. LONG LEAF has won all three races so far and won last start at Caulfield when fresh.
Race 8:
SHE WILL REIGN strong in winning last start at Warwick Farm on a soft track when fresh and loves a good track, a winning chance. CATCHY resumes from a 16 week spell. Has won once and placed once in four Group I attempts, could threaten. SNITTY KITTY just missed when heavily backed last start at Caulfield when resuming and has won three times at the track before, each-way claims. GLENALL let-up, strong place chance.
Race 9:
HARTNELL coming off a win in the C.F. Orr Stakes when first up and goes well at Caulfield, genuine contender. LORD FANDANGO in the money last start running third at Caulfield when resuming. Proven second-up winning two from two when fresh and placed at Benalla last go, the real danger in the race. SINGLE GAZE just missed as favourite last start in the C.F. Orr Stakes when resuming and gets out to prefferred distance, in with a chance. ABBEY MARIE just missed as favourite last start in the C.F. Orr Stakes when fresh and up in distance, looks threatening.

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:
Race 6:
It looks as though SHOW A STAR will go around earlier which leaves the lead to SINGING. He has hit his straps so impressively over December/January that he now qualifies (after a fair while getting there) as a dependable conveyance. I doubt 5 weeks between runs will faze him. SUPPLY AND DEMAND ventures out beyond 1600m for the first time this prep and when he did that last prep he was unbeaten from four starts b/t 1800-2400m. Minor hopes to CARZOFF, GET ON THE GRANGE, LIAPARI and perhaps ADMIRAL JELLO can find several lengths from 1st-up to 2nd-up.
Selections 4 Singing, 1 Supply and Demand, 9 Carzoff, 6 Admiral Jello
Race 7:
An absolute belter of a contest this one. 6 and 2 the most likely leaders. 10 and 4 might have to be handy. SIEGE OF QUEBEC will be looking for the front today and 1400m will be his friend with minimal pressure applied to him. He was eclipsed by KEMENTARI a couple of weeks ago and the latter will be no doubt be improved by that return run. I would imagine he will be priced accordingly though and presumably SIEGE will for the first time NOT be favourite. TRAPEZE ARIST obviously has a big say in this as well; his only other run at Rosehill 1400m was pretty reasonable. Waller nommed six, accepts with only D’ARGENTO. His wins have been narrow but he could measure up.
Selections 6 Siege of Quebec, 3 Kementari, 2 Trapeze Artist, 7 Brave Song
Race 8:
3,6,9,10 set the tempo. HIEROGLYPHICS may well be pozzied at the opposite end of the group but she was typically solid on resumption and she was a winner at this track and trip 2nd-up last prep. Look for her to get back, save ground, and hope for luck. The resuming PICK ME UP will be adopting similar tactics. FICKLE FOLLY meanwhile has the draw to box-seat here and she is also a Rosehill 1100m winner. MEMES didn’t give the kick I was hoping for last start but she is down in grade here and I am not prepared to sell her short just yet.
Selections 11 Hieroglyphics, 10 Fickle Folly, 3 Memes
Race 9:
Pace provided by 7 and 15. 3 and 15 can set up handy. DAGNY has finished top three in her latest four fresh runs and she trialled really well at Randwick recently. Avdulla can have her stalking the leaders and she will be hard to hold out from there. BRATISLAVA has gone back and had a quiet trial since his win here in late January. Up in grade/down in weight/similar assignment and could have a cosy lead. Big winning hopes for him then. MORE TO GAIN hasn’t offered a poor run for a very long tim. DENPURR not hopeless at odds.
Selections 6 Dagny, 7 Bratislava, 5 More to Gain, 11 Denpurr
Race 6:
SINGING last start win at Gosford took streak to three in a row, commands respect. SUPPLY AND DEMAND goes well at Rosehill and drawn perfectly, could threaten. SHOW A STAR led throughout for a dominant win last start at Warwick Farm, could upset. TESTASHADOW goes well at Rosehill and four from eight wins have been in the dry, place best.
Race 7:
KEMENTARI coming off a win at Warwick Farm when resuming and Glyn Schofield has had success aboard previously, has solid claims. D’ARGENTO coming off a win at Randwick when first up and has won all three races so far, each-way claims. PIERATA can’t knock the form winning two in a row at Gold Coast and Doomben, could threaten. TRAPEZE ARTIST won last start in the Expressway on a soft track when fresh and three from four wins have been in the dry, not without each-way claims.
Race 8:
Looks a toss up between the top two selections. FICKLE FOLLY coming off a win at Warwick Farm and in strong form with three wins from five attempts this campaign, marginal top pick. BONNY O’REILLY goes well at Rosehill and six of eight wins have come from dry ground, hard to hold out. NEW UNIVERSE placed at trial since last race 28 days ago and has won twice at Rosehill before, sneaky chance. PERIZADA last start winner at Canberra when fresh and drops 7kg from last run, don’t treat lightly.
Race 9:
BRATISLAVA 2 wins from four attempts this campaign and trial in the 28 days since last run could help, hard to go past. DAGNY first-up after 13 week spell and placed in Randwick trial, don’t dismiss. LEVEL EIGHT goes down in weight and has four placings from five runs this prep, each-way claims. PEACOCK resumes after an 18 week spell and placed in both lead-up trials, in with a chance.
