Unibet – Race Comments and Selections:
Race 8:
LAND OF PLENTY (8) Having third run back from a break and looks set to peak in this race. Will need a touch of luck from the barrier but gets the services of gun hoop Damien Lane. Must be respected. OSBORNE BULLS (4) Highly promising 5yo gelding by Street Cry who has an electric turn of foot when he can show it. Has put together an impressive record of 8 wins from 11 starts and looks destined to feature in these bigger races this spring after another impressive victory first up last time out. Should run very well. HOME OF THE BRAVE (2) Third up today and is in sizzling form after blowing away Group 1 performers D’Argento and Trapeze Artist at Rosehill last start. Looks well placed here and is one of the top hopes in this race. SHOWTIME (3) Won nicely first up before an out of character performance last time out. From the nice barrier look for an improved performance and cannot dismiss.
Selections: 8 Land of Plenty, 4 Osborne Bulls, 2 Home of the Brave, 3 Showtime
Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:
Race 8:
HOME OF THE BRAVE ran them along in Sydney last start and never looked like getting run down. He’ll push forward again. Expect he’ll try to steal this from the corner and he will take catching. More than likely that OSBORNE BULLS will be giving the leaders a big start but he has a sharp turn of hoof late and can finish all over these the last 200m. SHOWTIME was too bad to be true here last start when he never stretched out. He’ll get a perfect run from his inside gate and can bounce back to best form. LAND OF PLENTY is racing in super form this time in. Again cannot leave him out.
Selections: 2. Home Of The Brave, 4. Osborne Bulls, 3. Showtime, 8. Land Of Plenty
Race 8:
OSBORNE BULLS Has put together a superb record with eight wins and three placings from his 11 starts to date including a win in the Regal Roller at Caulfield last start. This is his toughest test to date but has always looked like a Group I horse in the making and is the one to beat. LAND OF PLENTY Just missed reeling in Osborne Bulls in the Regal Roller resuming two back before going one better at Moonee Valley last start. Has a great chance of turning the tables stepping up to 1400m third-up. DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR Won the Spring Stakes at Morphettville resuming three runs back and finished second at Flemington last start. Will need some luck from the gate but if it comes is capable of being in the finish. HOME OF THE BRAVE Is a Godolphin import having his third Australian start and could not have been more impressive winning the Theo Marks at Rosehill last start. That ability to race on the speed will hold him in good stead here.
Betfair – Race Analysis & Selections:
Race 8:
HOME OF THE BRAVE was good first up before a terrific win in the Group 2 Theo Marks Stakes last start over D’argento and Trapeze Artist. Will be on speed from the wide draw and can go on with it now. LAND OF PLENTY has picked up where he left off with a strong first up effort behind Osborne Bulls before scoring a win at Moonee Valley last start. Goes well at the trip and with even luck will be in the finish. OSBORNE BULLS scored a narrow win first up and will be prominent again second up.

Unibet – Race Comments and Selections:
Race 5:
YOUNGSTAR (6) Was fighting out the finish when winning three runs back at Doomben and will be trying to topple them late. Honest enough customer who is strongly placed. NOIRE (5) Proven record when second up with 2 wins from 3 starts. Landed the spoils when winning three runs back at Randwick and finishes off strongly. Classy enough for this field and is one of the major players. ARBEITSAM (2) Third up today. Ran 6th last start at Newcastle. Winning hope. CABEZA DE VACA (3) Strong record when third up with 2 wins from 4 starts. Slipped back to finish 13th last time at Randwick but drops back to a suitable grade. Among the major players
Selections: 6 Youngstar, 5 Noire, 2 Arbeitsam, 3 Cabeza De Vaca
Race 6:
CHAMPAGNE CUDDLES (5) Second up from a spell. Overrun late when 3rd last run around here and has drawn the rails. Winnable race. PROMPT RESPONSE (1) Racing fresh today after a break. Showed promise when winning last run at Doomben. Ticks plenty of boxes and looks like value. DIXIE BLOSSOMS (3) Second up. Displayed good finishing speed when 3rd last time at Randwick and strong at this distance with 3 wins from 7 starts. Will go well here. INVINCIBELLA (4) Brave effort to win last time at this venue and should get going late. Respect against this field
Selections: 5 Champagne Cuddles, 1 Prompt Response, 3 Dixie Blossoms, 4 Invincibella
Race 7:
THE AUTUMN SUN (2) J.J. Atkins winner who returned very well in the Stan Fox first up. Tactics will be interesting from the wide barrier with the addition of blinkers to this horse. Expected to be very hard to beat. GRAFF (4) Returned like a superstar in the San Domenico fresh and then just missed when starting favourite in the Run To The Rose. Looks like getting the run of the race if it steps cleanly. This horse should definitely be high in your thoughts. LEAN MEAN MACHINE (1) Weaved through the field like a really good horse when winning the Run To The Rose by 3/4 of a length last time out and has always had good potential. Worth a serious look. JONKER (7) Has not yet produced the form it showed in it’s two year old season when demolishing it’s opposition in the Wyong Magic Millions by more than 4L. Looks the likely leader of the race and gets gun hoop Brenton Avdulla. A definite for any exotic plays.
Selections: 2 The Autumn Sun, 4 Graff, 1 Lean Mean Machine, 7 Jonker

Race 5:
2 and 3 can argue over who leads. NOIRE is also in later on but she gets top nod if here. You just had to love what she did on the comeback and despite leaping up from 1200m I’m happy to be with her. Only just though as her stablemate YOUNGSTAR caught the eye on her way home behind Comin’ Through. Maybe now she might want a little further than this trip?? That’s only a very minor query. ARBEITSAM and CABEZA DE VACA are both capable of holding the backmarkers off if they are on their game.
Selections: 5. Noire, 6. Youngstar, 2. Arbeitsam, 3. Cabeza De Vaca
Race 6:
Again the main speed comes from the Waterhouse/Bott stable. I have 10 leading 1 but wouldn’t be surprised if it was the other way around. SHUMOOKH drifted quite alarmingly in betting before her return at Wyong. They wanted the winner and not this one at all and that’s how it played out. With a keen eye on today’s market shifts I am pleased to stick with her at this stage. Stablemate PROMPT RESPIONSE had an outstanding campaign last time in and has won both her recent trials. NOIRE obviously a great chance if here instead of the Shannon. DAYSEE and DIXIE ran 1-2 in this race last year and neither can be ruled out in a hurry.
Selections: 10. Shumookh, 1. Prompt Response, 5. Champagne Cuddles
Race 7:
7 and 9 to lead 6 and 5. Most winners of this race over the last six or so years have drawn double figures race so no-one should let barrier 10 put you off THE AUTUMN SUN. Blinkers first time for him today and clearly he should have remained unbeaten first-up if he had been all clear all the way. There’s no query about him being out in the open this time. Lone filly SEABROOK has the chance to build on what she did first-up. I have her marked about half what was available in early markets. Likewise LONG LEAF who just didn’t seem all that happy on the Heavy last time. GRAFF finds a good spot in running and nobody will be surprised if he walks away the winner.
Selections: 2. The Autumn Sun, 11. Seabrook, 8. Long Leaf, 4. Graff
Race 5:
NOIRE Has put together a solid record with six wins and five placings from her 14 career starts to date and just missed at Rosehill resuming coming from well back. Has a very good record second-up and gets the chance to go one better. YOUNGSTAR Was terrific in the Tramway resuming running excellent closing sectionals despite running out of room late. She was the Queensland Oaks winner during the Brisbane Winter Carnival and she will take a power of beating fitter second-up with just 53.5kg on her back. ARBEITSAM Was less than a length from the winner in the Tramway resuming two back before being run down late in the Cameron Handicap at Newcastle. Makes his own luck on speed and is ready to win peaking third-up. CABEZA DE VACA Has been well beaten in his two runs this preparation in WFA races. It would be no surprise to see a sharp improvement dropping 4.5kg under the handicap conditions.
Race 6:
CHAMPAGNE CUDDLES Found the heavy conditions against her first-up when third in the Sheraco resuming when a beaten favourite. She’s an ultra-consistent mare who has to be given another chance on a drier surface getting all the favours in running launching from the inside gate. PROMPT RESPONSE Resumes and generally pulls out a solid run fresh. Won the Tatts Tiara before the break and looked ready to go fresh winning both lead-up trials at Randwick and Wyong. INVINCIBELLA Came from well back to get the bob in winning the Sheraco Stakes at Rosehill resuming last start. Tends to hold her form second-up which makes her a winning chance again. NOIRE Is a dual acceptor who has put together a solid record with six wins and five placings from her 14 career starts to date and just missed at Rosehill resuming coming from well back. Has a very good record second-up and gets the chance to go one better.
Race 7:
THE AUTUMN SUN Was unbeaten in his first preparation going from a Randwick maiden win to the Group I J.J. Atkins at his third race start. Looked to be something beaten in the Stan Fox resuming and looks set to make amends here. GRAFF Won his first three career starts including an impressive win in the San Domenico at Rosehill resuming two runs back before an excellent effort in the Run To The Rose finishing runner-up after covering plenty of ground in the run. Drawn to get a softer run here and is right in play. LEAN MEAN MACHINE Could not have been more impressive winning the Run To The Rose resuming last start showing excellent acceleration to reel in the leaders. Won the BRC Sires this trip during the Brisbane Winter Carnival. Still has plenty of scope for improvement and is a winning chance again. ZOUSAIN Finished on the placegetters heels in the Run To The Rose resuming. It’s hard to see him turning the tables on Lean Mean Machine and Graff on that run however still rates a place chance.
Betfair – Race Analysis & Selections:
Race 5:
Doesn’t appear a lot of depth to this line up with the leading market hopes tipped to fight out the finish. YOUNGSTAR really impressed in her return when working home strongly to finish a close up sixth in the Tramway Stakes behind Comin’ Through. Returned a new career peak on that occasion and with further improvement expected, she should prove very hard to beat. ARBEITSAM has been fair in two starts to begin this preparation and should be nearing his top third up. On the quick back up and should prove hard to get passed. NOIRE did a great job first up and appears the next in line.
1. Youngstar – 5 stars
2. Arbeitsam – 5 stars
3. Noire – 4 stars
Race 6:
Wide open mares’ contest with little separating the main hopes in this year’s Group 2 Golden Pendant. DIXIE BLOSSOMS really caught the eye first up when only narrowly beaten in the Tramway Stakes behind Comin’ Through. Open to good improvement off the back of that effort and has drawn to get a lovely run. Rates well back against her own sex and should prove hard to beat. INVINCIBELLA returned with a bang last start and is clearly a mare heading the right way. Bowman sticks and she looms as a major threat. PROMPT RESPONSE a big watch fresh with Oliver booked.
1. Dixie Blossoms – 5 stars
2. Invincibella – 4 stars
3. Prompt Response – 4 stars
Sunshine Coast
Race 4, No. 5 Racecourse Road – 4 stars
Race 5, No. 1 Dal Cielo – 4.5 stars
