Unibet – Race Comments and Selections:
Race 7:
VIDDORA (10) Going well of late and looks set to get a good run. Best is good enough here. ENTICING STAR (13) May have had issues last time out when suffering shock defeat. Look for a much improved performance today. DAINTY TESS (11) Will derive benefit from previous run and should be prominent throughout. Can give this a shake. VOODOO LAD (2) Slightly hindered by the outside draw but loves this trip and can display good finishing speed. One at a price.
Selections: 10 Viddora, 13 Enticing Star, 11 Dainty Tess, 2 Voodoo Lad
Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:
Race 7:
Couldn’t look past the obvious in VIDDORA. Sizzled first up in the Moir Stakes before nothing went right in The Everest. She was nice and sharp winning a Cranbourne 12/11 trial. Maps to advantage from suitable draw and from a midfield running position, she only needs galloping room to claim a second Winterbottom. Happy to forgive a good horse one bad run and must include ENTICING STAR. Lead-up runs have been far from ideal, but her elite closing speed and phenomenal hoop must be respected. Expecting big finisher I’LL HAVE A BIT and proven WFA performer MALAGUERRA to figure.
Selections: 10. Viddora, 13. Enticing Star, 12. I’ll Have A Bit, 1. Malaguerra
Betfair – Race Analysis & Selections:
Race 7:
Speed comes from Runson, Belter and Valour Road with the likes of Rebel King, Ashlor , Malibu Style and Malaguerra handy. VIDDORA won this race last year easily and showed she was in form with a Group 1 win first-up before not handling the heavy in The Everest. Take holding out. ENTICING STAR lost her unbeaten record last start but had good reason being in season. Ran on fairly but she’s better than that. If she’s at her best she can win. MALAGUERRA had excuses in the Manikato when resuming but will be fitter as he was coming off a tear off the scene. His best is good enough to go close. Dainty Tess can never be left out and I’ll Have A Bit and Voodoo Lad are in the mix too.
Selections:
1. Viddora (5 stars)
2. Enticing Star (4 stars)
3. Malaguerra (4 stars)
Race 7:
ENTICING STAR Won her first eight starts before having her colours lowered in the Lee Steere Stakes last start. Has won a trial at Lark Hill in the interim and no surprise to see her take the step necessary here. VIDDORA Hasn’t raced since finishing down the track in the Everest on the heavy track at Randwick. Has been kept up to the mark winning a recent Cranbourne trial and does have a very good fresh record including a win in The Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley resuming prior to the Everest failure. The class horse of the field and right in the mix. VALOUR ROAD Was a Group II winner as a two-year-old and has been close-up both runs this time in. This is her toughest test to date but has upside and no surprise to see a forward showing. DURENDAL Is chasing back to back wins after winning the Colonel Reeves Stakes over 1100m at Ascot last start. Has been placed four from five this track and distance and was placed in his only Group I start. Has bright place prospects again.
