Brighton vs. Everton |
Back Brighton +0.5 at 1.76 (Betfair)
Brighton sit a comfortable 10 points above the relegation zone, with much of their success due to their strong home form. They have gone 8-6-4 at Amex Stadium over the last 12 months, with an impressive 5-2-3 record as the home underdog. They drew Arsenal 1-1 midweek at this venue and they held Everton to a draw last season.
Tottenham vs. Wolverhampton |
Back Tottenham in the head-to-head at 1.38 (Betfair)
Tottenham boast a 12-1-0 record as the home favourite over the last 12 months. Their five-game winning streak has seen them move up to second on the table. The Spurs are scoring freely at the moment, having put 6 past Everton and 5 past Bournemouth leading into this clash. Wolverhampton have been a streaky team this season. They enjoyed a three-game winning streak in early December, but prior to that they endured a 0-1-5 run. They were comfortably beaten by Liverpool and could only manage a point against Fulham last round, so they may have entered their next slump, but this is more a bet on Tottenham’s strong home form.
Fulham vs. Huddersfield |
Back under 2.5 goals at 1.69 (Betfair)
Fulham’s new manager Claudio Ranieri has managed to stem the leakage of goals to some extent, with the side conceding a total of 2 goals in their last 3 home fixtures. They continue to struggle for goals, however, with the side only scoring a total of one goal in their last three games. Huddersfield continue to struggle for goals too, with the side only managing to score twice in 1 out of 19 games this season. The two relegation-threatened sides played each other in November, which Huddersfield won 1-0. Another low scoring game looks on the cards.
Watford vs. Newcastle |
Back Watford in the head-to-head at 1.85 (Unibet)
Watford bring stronger form into this fixture than Newcastle. The hosts have scored in their last five games and have scored at least twice in three of them, with only Man City and Chelsea preventing them from scoring more than once. Looking at the interactive EPL form guide, Watford have a 4-1-0 home record against weak opponents this season. Watford have won 4 of their 5 clashes against Newcastle going back to 2015, including both home fixtures. The visitors enter this clash having scored just one goal in their last three games.
Leicester City vs. Cardiff City |
Back Leicester City in the head-to-head at 1.58 (Neds)
Leicester City are riding high after beating Chelsea and Man City. They are a mercurial team and at the moment they look tough to play. Cardiff City have a poor 0-2-7 away record this season. They have a much stronger home record but already hosted Leicester in November and were defeated. It’s hard to see them getting anything at King Power Stadium.
Crystal Palace vs. Chelsea |
Back Chelsea in the head-to-head at 1.79 (Unibet)
Chelsea have won 3 of their last 4 visits to Selhurst Park and Crystal Palace have a 0-2-6 record as the home underdog over the last 12 months.
Manchester United vs. Bournemouth |
Back Manchester United in the head-to-head at 1.37 (Unibet)
Manchester United have won 5-1 and 3-1 since Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s appointment as interim manager. Those were against Cardiff City and Huddersfield, but nevertheless the side looks rejuvenated with a new manager at the helm. They have another very winnable fixture this round against Bournemouth, who have a miserable 0-0-6 record against the big six clubs this season. Their last three clashes against such clubs saw them lose by a combined 11-goal margin. Since their promotion Bournemouth have a 1-1-5 record against Manchester United.
