Remaining fixtures from Gameweek 32
Wolverhampton vs. Manchester United |
Back Manchester United in the head-to-head at 2.07 (Unibet)
Wolverhampton play Watford in the FA Cup semi-finals on Sunday so they will likely have one eye on that fixture when naming the team sheet for this clash. While holding onto 7th spot in the Premier League for the sake of prize money is nice, a shot at making the FA Cup final will likely take precedence. Wolverhampton’s EPL campaign has actually stalled of late, with the side going 1-3-2 in their last six fixtures. Manchester United, meanwhile, have gone 11-2-1 in the EPL since Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s appointment as manager. They are in a four-way battle for the two remaining Champions League sports, so they have everything to play for. With the contrast in the two clubs’ incentives for this clash, I will back the visitors.
Tottenham vs. Crystal Palace |
Back under 3.5 goals at 1.55 (Betfair)
Back under 2.5 goals at 2.36 (Betfair)
Back the Tottenham 1-0 Crystal Palace correct score at 8.50 (bet365)
This will be Tottenham’s first fixture at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Their first ever opponent at the venue is a dangerous one, given Crystal Palace have picked up more points away than at home this season. They’re a team that loves to hit you on the counter. Tottenham are winless in their last five EPL games while Palace have won their last two away fixtures. Tottenham have an excellent record against Palace, having won their last seven straight against them, so I’m not prepared to back the visitors. Instead I will back a low scoring game. The last five meetings between the two all ended in 1-0 scorelines.
Gameweek 33 Fixtures
Newcastle vs. Crystal Palace |
Back Newcastle +0.5 at 1.47 (Betfair)
Back Newcastle in the head-to-head at 2.66 (Betfair)
Newcastle have a strong 3-1-0 home record against Crystal Palace in recent years and the visitors will be backing up after having played Tottenham midweek. Newcastle have won their last five straight home games as well as their last two home fixtures against Palace.
Huddersfield vs. Leicester City |
Back Leicester City in the head-to-head at 1.75 (Unibet)
Huddersfield fought gallantly against Palace last week but conceded two goals in the latter part of the game to be relegated. They have a dire 1-1-10 record as the home underdog over the last 12 months while Leicester City have gone 3-0-0 as the away favourite. Huddersfield’s new managerial signing Jan Siewert hasn’t worked out, with the club going 1-0-9 since his appointment. It’s being reported that Siewart has had a falling out with the players. Articles featuring various rumours aren’t helping their cause. At the same time, since the appointment of Brendan Rodgers as manager, Leicester City have picked up in form and bring a three-game winning streak into this clash.
