Race 6:
Can’t imagine GALAXY STAR will be getting beaten. This superstar mare was a moral rolled when resuming in the G3 Roma Cup at Ascot 18/5, getting strung up in traffic before unleashing a powerful final 200m and just missing. Will relish the Belmont 1400m and with an uninterrupted passage in transit, she should be far too strong for these. GATTING is a very serious racehorse in his own right and trialled impressively at Lark Hill 20/5. Looks the standout second selection. VITAL SILVER is a major talent and his Roma Cup win was no fluke. Front-running warrior GREAT SHOT rounds out the top four.
Selections: 5. Galaxy Star, 2. Gatting, 3. Vital Silver, 1. Great Shot
Race 6:
1. Galaxy Star (5 stars)
2. Vital Silver (5 stars)
3. Great Shot (4 stars)
Race 6:
GALAXY STAR Was held up at a vital time before hitting the line strongly when a close second in the Roma Cup last start. She’s the one to beat fitter second-up stepping up in distance. VITAL SILVER Has won eight of his 14 starts and returned a winner in the Roma Cup last start. Is unbeaten in three second-up runs and has to be a winning hope again. GREAT SHOT Was a run short when a close third in the Roma Cup resuming at Ascot last start. He’s right in the mix fitter second-up and is a winner at the track and distance. GATTING Resumes and won the Lee Steer Stakes last preparation before finishing runner-up in the Group I Railway Stakes. Would only need to be close to right to be in the finish and that looks the case after winning his lead up trial at Lark Hill.

Race 4:
VIRIDINE (1) charged home for an impressive win in the Ortensia Stakes at Scone last start. The way he hit the line suggests he will relish the extra 100m having won twice already at 1200m. Hard to hold out. BRAVE SONG (4) has caught the eye running on strongly for second in stakes races at both runs this time in. Close to a win and rates as a big threat. I AM EXCITED (3) couldn’t get into the G1 last week but if she repeats her Victory Stakes-winning performance of two starts back she could blow these away. WINTER BRIDE (6) wasn’t too far behind I Am Excited when fourth in the Victory and is already a G3 winner this preparation. PRETTY IN PINK (9) could be an improver second up.
Race 8:
PRINCESS JENNI (1) has powered through her grades this preparation and completed a winning hat trick when landing the G1 Australasian Oaks in Adelaide. Rates very well through that win and is unbeaten at 1600m and beyond. Big chance to land back-to-back Oaks wins. ETANA (3) looks the leading contender of the fillies that have been campaigning in Queensland having finished strongly to win The Roses here last start. Should relish the extra 200m and has upside. Threat. DUCHESS OF LENNOX (16) was an eye catcher against older horses last start. Horror draw but is progressing quickly and could blow them away. ALIFEROUS (2) just missed in The Roses after her fourth in the Australian Oaks. Only has to hold her form to be in the finish. ANGEL OF HEAVEN (12) has claims after a G3 second against the boys last week.
Race 9:
SIXTIES GROOVE (6) was the eye catcher in the G1 Doomben Cup when running on hard for a 1L third to race rival Kenedna. Had also placed first up and will relish getting out to this trip with two wins and a placing from three attempts. Previous third up winner so can peak. Gets his chance to turn the tables. KENEDNA (9) scored her second Group 1 from her past three starts with a fast-finishing win in the Doomben Cup. Beat her main rivals in the process and took her record at this course to two from three. If she can run the longer trip out strongly she will be hard to beat again. LIFE LESS ORDINARY (2) was another to charge home when second in the Doomben Cup following a Hollindale Stakes win. That form must be respected. SHILLELAGH (8) wasn’t far away in the Doomben Cup and has a touch of class. Contender. TALLY (5) could improve up in trip third up.
Race 4:
7. Divine Dice (3 stars)
1. Viridine (3 stars)
3. I Am Excited (3 stars)
4. Brave Song (3 stars)

7. Sampson (2 stars)
Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:
Race 4:
Divine Dice looks to pretty much have the lead all to himself, may not turn out that way however that’s how the map reads, early tactics could well decide this race. Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Blake Shinn push on from the start & find a prominent spot for Winter Bride, should he be able to settle first two or three she has the finish to pinch a break & hold the likely late closers. VIRIDINE looks unsuited by the tempo however he’s flying this prep running some slick sectionals, look for him to be motoring home late. Although well out of his grade DIVINE DICE is an exotics must!
Selections: 6. Winter Bride, 1. Viridine, 3. I Am Excited, 7. Divine Dice
Race 8:
The days highlight is the Group 1 Oaks over the 2200m, map suggests the main pace early will come from nos.3 & 18 however in a race such as this others are likely to push on particularly those drawn wide gates. Can’t say I’m wrapped in the extreme outside gate for DUCHESS OF LENNOX who will get back, James McDonald will no doubt be on his bike well before the turn with this filly who almost beat the older horses last start, I’ll stick with her. Without doubt PRINCESS JENNI the toughest to beat, has the runs on the board a better gate & really can find the line. Hoping RE EDIT gains a start.
Selections: 16. Duchess Of Lennox, 1. Princess Jenni, 2. Aliferous, 21. Re Edit
Race 9:
Terrific race to wind up is this years O’Shea where nos.4, 7 & 11 should set the tempo which doesn’t appear anything strong on paper. The Doomben Cup will likely be the best form reference here as many of the runners here come out of it including the the first three home. I thought SHILLELAGH’s run clocking in 6th was terrific, she only got rolling late making up plenty of ground over the last 100m or so, fitter & can run the 2200m out. LIFE LESS ORDINARY charged late to almost knock over KENEDNA & will lap up the additional 200m today. BIG DUKE not hopeless however plenty of winning chances.
Selections: 8. Shillelagh, 2. Life Less Ordinary, 9. Kenedna, 1. Big Duke

Race 9:

3. Life Less Ordinary (4 stars)
Race 4:
VIRIDINE (1) Won narrowly last time at Scone. Finishes off strongly. Should be right in the finish. BRAVE SONG (4) Rocketed home into 2nd last start at Scone and should get going late. Jockey James Mcdonald and trainer Peter And Paul Snowden must be respected together. Must be considered. WINTER BRIDE (6) Fought on well to win three runs back at Randwick and suited at this trip in the past. Should get going late. Should take beating. I AM EXCITED (3) Left nothing to chance when winning two runs back at Eagle Farm and will be motoring home late. Can give this a shake.
Race 8:
PRINCESS JENNI (1) Was strong to the line when taking out the Schweppes Oaks. Can win back to back Group 1 races today. ETANA (3) Sprinted well in The Roses and should handle the step up in trip. Winning claims. ALIFEROUS (2) Will likely have to make up some ground but has shown a nice turn of foot in the past. Each way. DUCHESS OF LENNOX (16) Lightly raced but looks to have plenty of scope. One at a price.
Race 9:
KENEDNA (9) Solid effort when winning last time at the track. Hard to dismiss. SIXTIES GROOVE (6) Kept finding the line when 3rd last run around here and will be motoring home late. Can figure here. LIFE LESS ORDINARY (2) Got the prize when winning two runs back at Gold Coast and has a nice turn of foot. Going well this preparation. Include in chances. SHILLELAGH (8) Finishes off strongly. Finished 6th last time at this course. Should be very competitive and is a genuine threat
