The following is a survey of Australian racing tips for Saturday, June 15. One of the day’s highlights is the Ipswich Cup (Race 7) at Ipswich. The only Group race of the day is the Group 3 Hyperion Stakes (Race 5) at Belmont. Another featured race is the Winter Cup (Race 6) at Rosehill. Selected races at Morphettville and Sandown are also covered.

GALAXY STAR (5) left it very late but proved too classy when beating most of these at 1400m second-up. A mile is only better for her and she’ll win again. GREAT SHOT (1) is a bold front runner who had every chance but couldn’t hold off the mare last time. He’ll be in the finish. GATTING (2) probably wasn’t suited at 1400m fresh but ran well and will be fitter coming into this. Expect him to run well. CAPPO D’ORO (3) will be competitive again.

Can’t see anything upsetting special mare GALAXY STAR. Gave everyone a fright when leaving it late to claim a thrilling Belmont Sprint victory as a $1.30 fave two weeks back. Big win considering the shape of the race and her closing sectionals were simply outstanding. Suited up to the mile, unbeaten on rain-affected and she just wins again. GATTING was rock-solid first up and will derive plenty of benefit from that searching hitout. Has gone close to matching Galaxy Star at times in the past. Brave front-runner GREAT SHOT almost caused the Belmont Sprint upset. MIZLECKI is next best.

Fair result placing 2nd last time at this venue and easy to come into at the trip. Solid place bet prospects. CAPPO D’ORO (3) Left nothing to chance when winning two runs back at Ascot but up in grade. Rough exotics chance

Placed at both attempts at this journey. Gets his chance to win. FIGHTING TEO (7) is racing well winning his past two outings. Takes a step up in distance but has won at the trip before and gets the right run from the good draw. BERGERAC (2) is a stakes winner so has ability on his day and will be fit after three runs since a spell. FIRST CRUSH (3) can give a sight if he can find his best form. RUBY GURU (8) next best off a last-start Sunshine Coast win.

This years Ipswich Cup has attracted a smallish field however there does appear to be a few winning chances, although no clear leader on the map I’d suggest nos.2, 3 & 7 the most likely to push on. FIGHTING TEO is one of those likely on-pacers & he comes into this race off consecutive wins holding the late closers to score at Doomben before down to the mile latest accounting for far inferior company at Toowoomba keeping his fitness levels in order. Right run, no weight & he’ll run the trip right out. BERGERAC on trial at 2150m, placed as far as 1800m (once & only try) & was narrowly beaten.

Capable of taking this out. HIGH OPINION (6) Has run a place in 4 of his last 5 starts. A win here wouldn’t shock. TERRA SANCTA (10) Put in an improved effort here last start and should be fitter again. Each way.

HIGH BRIDGE (7) indicated he was back on track two back, before only narrowly edged out in the WJ McKell Cup last start. Has gone to another level with the blinkers being applied and he gets a 2kg weight swing in his favour. Should be too strong late. HUSH WRITER (4) was very impressive first up, returning as a gelding. Beat home the former narrowly and while worse off at the weights, he is open to further improvement and looms as a major threat. YOGI (1) has placed in 4/6 previous FU attempts and off a short break (63 days), he can certainly make his presence felt. SAUNTER BOY (6) next best.

OUR BIG MIKE to lead out. HUSH WRITER was good enough to score off the break and won’t be any worse for the run surely. HIGH BRIDGE pressed him though and today gets a 2 kilo positive swing. YOGI has fresh form over 1800m and will have done plenty of work to be ready to win at 2400m. Expect him to miss the start and have to get past all. DESTINY’S KISS has a long history in the race. He won it six years ago (over dual G1 winner Fiumicino) before an unlucky 5th in 2014. He skipped the race in 2015/16 but has placed in it the last two years.

Can go through the gears. Winning claims. YOGI (1) Finishes off strongly. Didn’t find the line when 16th last run at Randwick and back from a break. Forgive last run and get a chance to win. SAUNTER (6) Honest race when 3rd three runs back at Saint Cloud and gets the perfect alley. Strong each way hope
