After two luckless runs STAGEMAN can right some wrongs. Convinced he should’ve run second in Colonel Reeves Stakes as well as last week’s G1 Winterbottom Stakes, when held up badly on both occasions. New to 1400m, but with a patient Pike ride, Stageman should still have enough fuel to launch late. FLIRTINI is in devastating form and deserves favouritism after a monstrous Winterbottom effort. Very hard to beat. UNI TIME has taken all before him this prep and can measure up to another acid test. Last year’s winner, ARCADIA PRINCE, looks ready to peak third up. FLOW is a 1400m specialist.

Race 8:
TUSCAN QUEEN is poised to be crowned the new queen of WA racing. Out to emulate 2018’s superstar winner Arcadia Queen, she was awesome in the Champion Fillies Stakes, and with a sweet draw and only 50kg, certainly has a lot in her favour. ‘The Wizard’ Pike knows what to do and Tuscan Queen is a clear standout. Untapped stablemate SUPERSTORM could spoil the coronation though. Huge in the WA Guineas and will thrive stalking an anticipated genuine tempo. Outstanding filly KAY CEE must rate highly also, while Railway Stakes combatants REGAL POWER and BEST OF DAYS are the best of the older horses.

FLIRTINI (12) Got the upper hand late when winning two runs back at this course and always seems to find the line well. Could pose a threat and expected to go very close. STAGEMAN (8) Snuck in a place when 3rd three runs back around here and on a quick turnaround. Should be swooping on the field late. Expect a bold effort. ARCADIA PRINCE (7) Third up from a spell. Really dug deep when winning three runs back at this track and strong form at the distance. Include in chances. UNI TIME (11) Game effort to win last start at this course and will try to take advantage of the alley. Strong form this preparation winning 3 from as many attempts. Should go close.
Race 8:
TUSCAN QUEEN (16) Winner last run around here but rising in grade. Finishes off strongly. Goes very close. REGAL POWER (8) Got the upper hand late when winning last run at the track and always seems to find the line well. Strong each way bet. BEST OF DAYS (5) Showed a good turn of foot when 2nd last time at this course and has a positive draw. Shows very good finishing speed. Keep an eye on the market. MISSISSIPPI DELTA (11) Having second run back from a spell. Showed promise when winning last start here but facing a stronger class. Maybe for the trifectas and a marginal hope
