Liverpool vs. Watford

Back Liverpool in the head-to-head at 1.20 (Unibet)

Liverpool bring a 15-game winning streak at Anfield into this clash and they have won their last three fixtures against Watford by a combined 13 goals to nil. Each of the last two fixtures between the two at Anfield were won 5-0 by Liverpool. The Reds have had the luxury of rotating the squad to stay fresh whilst still winning. Watford limp into this fixture having only scored 1 goal in their last four games. The Hornets have only scored 9 goals this season which is the fewest in the league. They will probably receive a boost under new manager Nigel Pearson, but it won’t be enough against a red-hot Liverpool.

Sheffield United vs. Aston Villa

Back Sheffield United in the head-to-head at 1.94 (Betfair)

Sheffield United have only lost 1 of their last 9 fixtures, and that was an unlucky defeat to Newcastle – a game that the Blades dominated the majority of. Aston Villa bring 1-1-5 form into this clash and they have gone 1-1-6 away from home this season.

Leicester City vs. Norwich

Back Leicester City in the head-to-head at 1.25 (Betfair)

Leicester City are on an 8-game winning streak. During that stretch they have outscored their opposition by 25 goals to 3. Norwich sit second to bottom with their defence to blame. The Canaries have conceded an average of 2.1 goals per game this season. Norwich limp into this fixture with 1-2-8 form.

Burnley vs. Newcastle

Back Newcastle in the head-to-head at 3.80 (Unibet)
Back Newcastle +0.5 at 1.89 (Betfair)

Burnley have been defensively frail in recent weeks, conceding 11 goals during the last three games whilst scoring just 1. Even Crystal Palace – who have the second weakest defensive record in the league – beat Burnley 2-0 at Turf Moor a week ago. Newcastle have made a habit of finding ways to win over the last few weeks. They bring 4-1-1 form into this clash. Newcastle did the double over Burnley last season and have only lost 1 of their last 6 fixtures against the Clarets.

Manchester United vs. Everton

Back Manchester United in the head-to-head at 1.79 (BetEasy)

Manchester United enter this clash on the back of wins over Tottenham and Manchester City. Much of their recent success has been linked to the red-hot form of Marcus Rashford. United have gone 10-3-2 as the home favourite over the last 12 months. The Red Devils do have to play Dinamo Zagreb in their final Champions League group fixture midweek, but they are already through to the last 16 as guaranteed group winners, so will have the luxury of rotating the squad. Everton beat Chelsea in their first game under interim manager Duncan Ferguson, but one victory doesn’t undo the 8 losses from 11 games that preceded it. Time will tell whether Everton can maintain their form from last week. The Toffees have gone 1-1-4 as the away underdog over the last 12 months.

Arsenal vs. Manchester City

Back Manchester City in the head-to-head at 1.48 (Betfair)
Back Over 2.5 goals at 1.38 (Betfair) – BEST BET

Arsenal’s 7-game winless streak came to an end with a 3-1 win over the out-of-sorts West Ham, but the Gunners were poor for much of that match and they have the poor fortune of taking on a Man City side that is coming off a loss. Over the last 12 months City have gone 5-0-1 on the back of a defeat and they have won their last four straight against Arsenal. Both sides have looked suspect on defence this season, so I’m expecting City to prevail in a high scoring game. Seven of the last eight meetings between the two went over 2.5 goals. Arsenal’s last 4 fixtures went over this total, while the same can be said for Man City’s last seven fixtures.
