Race 4: Kay Cee
Race 4:
KAY CEE (5) Fought on well to win last start at the track and likely to race off the speed. Rates highly. LAVERROD (1) Scored a victory two runs back at Ascot. Strong win bet. KARIJINI AURORA (7) Winner two runs back at Albany. Going well this campaign. Consider an each way bet. CAPTAIN KINK (4) Nice effort when winning last start at the track and very competitive this campaign. Can’t be left out of exotics.

Race 4:
Wanted to make a case for LAVERROD to upset KAY CEE in the Belmont Guineas, but everything points towards another feature triumph for the outstanding filly. Refused to be beaten first up in the Raconteur Stakes, unleashing the best closing splits on the day, and is perfectly suited rising to 1600m and sliding down to 54.5kg. Steve Parnham doesn’t have to deviate from what works for Kay Cee and she should propel herself to victory. Laverrod is high-class, but will be target practice again for Kay Cee. Pat Carbery’s tactics will be fascinating. Don’t be surprised to see CAMBIST run a bottler fresh, while KARIJINI AURORA ran out of her skin in the Raconteur.
Selections: 5. Kay Cee (top tip), 1. Laverrod, 6. Cambist, 7. Karijini Aurora

OUTBURST (3) Was fighting out the finish when winning last time at Scone but facing a stronger grade. Drawn to sit just in behind the speed. Top prospects against this opposition. COSMIC GOSSIP (7) Got the upper hand late when winning two runs back at Eagle Farm and third up from a break. Should land a nice spot just off the speed. Winning hope. THE ACTUARY (9) Fought on well to win last time here and will appreciate a good barrier. Expecting to settle just off the pace. Good chance and wouldn’t be surprised to see it pick up a win. WAY BEYOND (1) Came on strongly to finish 2nd two runs back at Sunshine Coast and going down in class. Possesses very good finishing speed. Serious player.
Race 5: Cosmic Gossip
Race 5:
OUTBURST looks to have a good amount of upside.Showed a turn of foot before switching off a bit late last start. I’d have loved to see a set of winkers go on but he does has B.Stewart to keep him focused here. He should get the right run from the good gate. WAY BEYOND does mix his form which is far from ideal. He should appreciate this trip and just needs to stay in touch. SEEMARIE doesn’t have an early speed but she has run the best L200m in her last three starts and she should run as strong mile.
Selections: 3. Outburst, 1. Way Beyond, 8. See Marie, 9. The Actuary

Race 5:
Kefalonia a clear leader on the map here, not convinced it will turn out that way though with most tacking the mile for the first time. Definitely no standouts & should the track be in the Good range I’m going to have something each-way TOSCANNINI who raced well at his first prep in strong races on Good tracks, last 3 on Soft not the same dash, Fradd engaged to ride is a good lead. The Kendrick duo COSMIC GOSSIP & WAY BEYOND definite winning hopes on their better form, both can tend to mix it up a bit though. Definite watch on the well bred OUTBURST, could be better than the lot of them!
Selections: 6. Toscanini (top tip), 7. Cosmic Gossip, 1. Way Beyond, 3. Outburst
Race 5:
Outburst (3 stars)
Cosmic Gossip (3 stars)
The Actuary (5 stars)

Race 7:
KING OF HASTINGS (1) Got the prize when winning last start at Swan Hill and having third run back from a break. Will be looking to sit just behind the pace. Looks a worthwhile proposition today. BROADWAYANDFOURTH (5) Good win two runs back at Caulfield and displays good finishing speed. Can get the job done. RUN TO PERFECTION (8) Came in 3rd two runs back at Ellerslie and freshened up. Been in the money 3 from 4 attempts this preparation. Solid place bet prospects. FRONT PAGE (10) Handy enough when winning last run at Wangaratta and third up today. Flying this preparation with 2 wins from 2 runs. Should muster plenty of early speed. Has claims.
Race 7: I Am Eloquent

Race 7:
KING OF HASTINGS has come back in great order. He pushed the red-hot Prezado on resumption before a dominant win in a strong edition of the Gold Topaz. Importantly, he has won over this route before. FRONT PAGE is an intriguing runner. Graduates from a country BM64, but led/won with ease on a day that suited the swoopers. His first-up win was awesome. BROADWAYANDFOURTH is on the quick back-up after giving herself too much to do at The Valley. She has plenty of class, as evidenced by her soft win two back and at G3 level in the spring. Loved the return of THAT GIRL at Sale. She’ll only improve second up and has form down the straight.
Selections: 1. King Of Hastings (top tip), 10. Front Page, 5. Broadwayandfourth, 12. That Girl

SOUTHERN LAD (6) Put in a competitive run when placing 2nd last time at this track but carrying more weight than last time. Likely to get a nice run behind the speed. Live winning chance. VIRIDINE (1) Came on strongly when 4th last start around here but going up in weight. Should enjoy a cosy run off the pace. Include in chances. INVICTUS PRINCE (5) Displayed good finishing speed when 2nd last run at this venue and displays good finishing speed. Warrants a bet. HANDLE THE TRUTH (3) Below par when 6th around here. Looks nicely placed today but bit of extra work to do with more weight today. Possesses good closing speed. Market watch advised.
Race 5: Southern Lad
Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:
Race 5:
Not a lot of natural speed engaged in what is ostensibly the ‘feature’ race of the day. 8 could head forward with 7. SOUTHERN LAD probably a bit costly last prep and this (in fact he has been beaten the last five times he has been favourite) but a 2nd to Classique Legend, albeit in receipt of 7 kilos and with extra race fitness on board, is likely the right form to bring along here. VIRIDINE out of the same race of course and while he has won just 2 from his latest 22 he is G1-placed and a rightful head of the field. HANDLE THE TRUTH could should have strong positioning in the race and does fancy Heavy going.
Selections: 6. Southern Lad (top tip), 1. Viridine, 3. Handle The Truth, 5. Invictus Prince
Race 5:
Southern Lad (5 stars)
