TREKKING (1) Strong form third up winning 3 from 5 runs. Snuck in a place when 2nd two runs back in the Moir Stakes and possesses good closing speed. Can go on with it. DIRTY WORK (6) Brave effort to win last run in the Schillaci Stakes but up in grade. Expecting to settle just off the pace. Chance to break through and a could give a show. PIPPIE (8) Did enough to win last run in the Moir Stakes and won’t be far away during the run. Key hope. HEY DOC (2) Having third run back from a break. Went out at $5.5 and came in 4th last run in the Schillaci Stakes but suited at this distance historically. In the mix
1. Trekking and 10. Diamond Effort
Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:
Thinking TREKKING can turn the tables on PIPPIE from their last clash in the Moir a month ago, with the Godolphin gelding favoured at 1200m. He was again very good in a fast Everest last Saturday and if he handles the quick back-up, he is clearly the one to beat. He won the G1 Goodwood over this trip when third-up last time in. If the rain falls as expected on Friday, and we’re racing in the soft/heavy range, DIAMOND EFFORT will figure prominently. After sitting three wide in the Schillaci, she was nailed on the line by DIRTY WORK, who had the last crack. BELLA VELLA loves The Valley and handles all conditions.
Selections: 1. Trekking (top tip), 10. Diamond Effort, 9. Bella Vella, 8. Pippie
