Race 7:
SHEZA CHALMER (1) Chimed in with a win last run here and very competitive this campaign. Shows very good closing speed. Going good enough to win this and a clear top pick. TRI FOR US (2) Bold effort to win three runs back around here. Ready to win. BARONOVA (4) Landed the spoils when winning last run around here and going well this preparation. Finishes off strongly. Respect against this field. REBEL HEART (7) Solid effort when 4th last start at this track and carrying less weight this time. Will be around the mark at odds.
Race 8:
CRESCENT CITY (3) Backing up quickly. Winner last run at this venue but rising in grade. Definite claims. KERMAN ROCK (1) Came on strongly when 2nd last time around here. Struggling this campaign with no wins from 9 starts. Cannot underestimate. TRADEM’ IN (4) Really dug deep when winning last run at this venue and carrying less weight this time. Will be looking to sit just behind the pace. Been in the money 5 from 6 attempts this preparation. Use betting as a guide. TENA KOUTOU (7) Got the prize when winning last time at Pinjarra and dropping weight today. Likely to fill a place

Race 7:
Hard to look past SHEZA CHALMER after her decisive Belmont Guineas victory. Settled sweetly for Pat Carbery and let down strongly to justify the betting push ($4 to $3.50). Will be put to sleep again from gate one and if she gets clear air they’ll struggle to hold her out. TRI FOR US lost no admirers in the Belmont Guineas, just not sure how she’s going to turn the tables. Staying filly BARONOVA is an interesting runner, hopping into this grade after dispatching the older horses in lower grades recently. CHILI IS HOT and SUNSET CRUISE can be in the fight for the first four.
Selections: 1. Sheza Chalmer (Best of the Day), 2. Tri For Us, 4. Baronova, 3. Chili Is Hot
Race 8:
It would be a rapid rise should CRESCENT CITY claim the Aquanita. He only won his maiden at Northam 17/6 before being $5-$4.40 and beating seasoned rivals in a graduation here last Saturday. Should only get better rising to 2000m, and in a low-pressure affair Pike should have him positioned in the front half to take advantage. TRADEM’ IN deserves a crack at this. He’ll have to come from near last to win though. KERMAN ROCK is the best credentialed runner in the race, with WA Derby and Belmont Guineas placings to his name. Emerging stayer TENA KOUTOU brings X-factor to the race after a strong Pinjarra 24/06 display.
Selections: 3. Crescent City (Top Tip), 4. Tradem’ In, 1. Kerman Rock, 7. Tena Koutou

Flemington
Race 4:
ROYALZEL (1) Won last start at Rosehill. Very competitive this campaign. Will give a big sight. FORBIDDEN CITY (11) Having third run back from a spell. Did well to run 2nd two runs back at Geelong. Could go well. CARDIGAN QUEEN (5) Good win last start at Swan Hill and has a good draw. Include in chances. BON VIVANT (6) When $6 finished 2.65L behind the winner at the track last time on a soft surface but dropping weight today. Include in all exotics.
Race 6:
DICE ROLL (2) Good win last run at this track. Flying this campaign with 3 wins from 3 starts. Has found what on first sight looks an easy opportunity and will prove hard to beat. ODEON (3) Nice run when 3rd last start at this course and has a positive gate. Should race on the speed. Chance to break through and a could give a show. KIRWAN’S LANE (10) Placed 3rd last time at Randwick and suited at this distance historically. No surprise to see a forward showing and one of the main hopes in this race. ADELAIDE ACE (8) Game effort to win last time at Swan Hill but facing a stronger grade. Likely to race off the speed. Likely to fill a place.
Race 8:
THE ASTROLOGIST (5) Brave effort to win last time at this venue and easy to come into at the trip. Appears well in this. HI STRANGER (8) Having second run back from a spell. Good performance to run into 2nd last start here and will be motoring home late. Has the ability to figure. ISAURIAN (1) Strong record when resuming with 5 wins from 6 runs. Fought on gamely when winning three runs back at Eagle Farm. Likely to get a nice run behind the speed. Definite winning chance. BANQUO (4) Having second run back from a break. Was $12 and ended up 1 1/4L from the winner around here last start on a soft surface. Include in all exotics.

Race 4:
Not sure speed: 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10? ROYALZEL won well at Rosehill from the back off a modest tempo on a better day to be handy. CELESTIAL FURY was a tough debut winner here with FORBIDDEN LOVE (ran on well vs slow tempo) and BON VIVANT (also ran on late/equal-fastest last 200m split in fact/has 3kg swing now too) behind him. Unbeaten MESSIGNADI was 1000m-to-1300m at Lakeside latest but that race was run at a crawl. CELTIC GLORY had no right to get that close and ran day’s fastest last 200m. WHATAFOX has same formline. CARDIGAN QUEEN won $100,000 race latest with blinkers. TATSURO can win.
Selections: 1. Royalzel (Top Tip), 13. Celtic Glory, 5. Cardigan Queen, 6. Bon Vivant
Race 6:
SPEED: 3 may lead 5, 8, 10. DICE ROLL is unbeaten in Oz and loved the strength to his last 100m when winning here last time, he was 7-weeks between runs there too. Yes 1600m. ODEON fought hard and has a 2.5kg swing today. The trifecta there had a gap on the rest. ADELAIDE ACE was looking for the mile at Swan Hill and won. That form easily ties in with Dice Roll through BIOMETRIC. KIRWAN’S LANE is a good miler and put up a big figure winning two back. BUCKHURST beat Sir Dragonet (Cox Plate winner) last June. Now gelded. Betting?
Selections: 2. Dice Roll (Best of the Day), 8. Adelaide Ace, 3. Odeon, 1. Buckhurst
Race 8:
ISAURIAN has never seen the straight track but he flies fresh and jumped out very well. THE ASTROLOGIST was a tough winner here latest, beating HI STRANGER and WILLIAM THOMAS, who both rushed late and were only first up. Hi Stranger draws wider to help swooping pattern this time. BANQUO looked a big hope there 50m out but peaked late. He too was first up, his last second-up run he split G1 winners Zoutori and Tofane here in a Bobbie Lewis. MIDSHIPS has come back super. IRISH SONGS and ROMANCER are in the mix also.

Race 8: Niccanova (6.00) (win)
Race 6:
TAMILAIDE (9) Solid win three runs back at Gold Coast but up in grade. Likely to get a nice run behind the speed. No shock to see a win. DZSENIFER (11) Ran 3rd last time at Ipswich but facing a stronger class today. Second up from a spell. Contender. PALAISIPAN (14) Really dug deep when winning last start at Ipswich and expecting to settle positively. Has not missed this campaign with 4 wins from as many runs. Major hope. TUMBLER RIDGE (1) Got the cash when winning two runs back at Eagle Farm but up in class. Will be looking to sit just behind the leaders. Could run into the placings.
Race 7:
STOCKMAN (4) Winner last time at Rosehill. Possesses good closing speed. Looks well placed. PARRY SOUND (6) Managed to run 3rd last time at Rosehill. Expecting to settle just off the pace. Been in the money 5 from 6 attempts this preparation. Will go well. WU GOK (2) Out of character when 6th at Rosehill. Should bounce back. Should jump out and bowl along. Include in chances. FLASH AAH (5) Game effort to win three runs back at this track. Can be competitive.
Race 8:
DESERT LORD (7) Second up. Solid effort when winning last time at Ipswich and suited by the weight drop. Has the ability to figure. NICCANOVA (1) Winner three runs back at Eagle Farm but has to carry more weight this time. Expected to be flashing home. This field suits. CHARLEISE (6) Fought on gamely when winning last start at Eagle Farm and finishes off strongly. Racing consistently this campaign. Chance in this field so include in exotics. EMERALD KINGDOM (2) Got the prize when winning two runs back at Doomben but rises in weight. Should come to hand quickly. Has claims.
Race 6: Tumbler Ridge
Race 7: Stockman
Race 8: Desert Lord

Race 6:
Cracking race is the Group 3 Winx Guineas where we know Palaisapan will go forward, there really doesn’t appear to be any challengers on paper with perhaps nos.3 & 11 the most likely. Thought DZSENIFER’s first up run at Ipswich was a good one, yes she box seated behind the speed however was unable to squeeze through in the straight, she had to wait & run on late. No heavy track runs however has placed on soft & gut feel is she’ll get through it just fine. TAMILAIDE certainly will, clearly the best wet tracker in the race just has to measure up class wise. Nos.1, 2, 4 & 8 go in all my exotics.
Selections: 11. Dzsenifer (Top Tip), 9. Tamilaide, 1. Tumbler Ridge, 4. Not An Option
Race 7:
This years Caloundra Cup will be led by the mudlark Wu Gok who just eats the stuff, he’ll really get conditions to suit today! Very hard to tip against STOCKMAN who has been in excellent form down south, he followed up a Listed placing with a Listed win last start & impressively so on a heavy track, he gets the services of Ryan Maloney & will be the one steaming down the crown in the straight. Another Sydneysider PARRY SOUND has been going around in similar type races, hasn’t missed a placing in his past 5 starts, must go in. CELLARMAID could show up at odds, handles wet & 2400m wont worry.
Selections: 4. Stockman (Best of the Day), 6. Parry Sound, 9. Cellarmaid, 5. Flash Aah
Race 8:
The Glasshouse is always a major spectacle & under the lights will be just that, expect Emerald Kingdom to push on & according to the map lead, there don’t appear to be too many challengers on paper. NICCANOVA draws gate 20 (before scr) & has to lump 60.5kg which is definitely a task, however in his favour is the heavy going & that gate could be a godsend for him as he needs room to wind up & he should be on the better part of the track in the straight. EMERALD KINGDOM was terrific in the Stradbroke, led & fought on very gamely, races well here, just not proven worse than soft ground as yet
Selections: 1. Niccanova (Top Tip), 2. Emerald Kingdom, 9. Snitch, 17. Barefoot
