Race 3:
SECOND SLIP (1) Displayed potential when winning three runs back at Murray Bridge and likely to be well placed early. Can get the job done. DIAMONDS INTHE SKY (8) Second up from a spell. Won narrowly three runs back at this track and can save some energy from the draw. Open to improvement and is a strong chance again. DIRTY THOUGHTS (9) Nice run placing 3rd two runs back at Flemington and shows good early pace. Exotics chance.
Race 4:
BELLA NIPOTINA (3) Freshened up. Stormed home when 3rd last run at Eagle Farm and drops back to a suitable grade. Looks hard to beat on bare form alone. PAUL’S REGRET (4) Proven record when resuming. Was fighting out the finish when winning two runs back at this track. Worth consideration. PARLOPHONE (8) Having second run back from a break. Dashed home into 2nd last time at Morphettville and suited by the weight drop. Respect against this field.
Race 5:
ELEPHANT (11) Had a comfortable win last time at Ellerslie and gelded. Expecting to settle just off the pace. The one they all have to beat. JUMBO OZAKI (5) Put in a competitive run when placing 2nd last time at this track and third up today. Should just about get the run of the race. Major player. Race 6:

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:
Race 1:
NOTE: Rail 8m. Was 4m here last meeting and no leaders won. In fact, no winners were within 3L of lead at 800m (wind a key factor). LUNAR FLARE is 7-weeks off and has 60kg but was terrific winner in this grade two-back against boys. BARBIE’S FOX ran the 1600m out last time, she’s never won on dry ground but has run well (here) on firm. SAVIGNE ran well in this class back in May in race No Effort ran second (good form). SO YOU ASSUME sat on a modest tempo MV but did bolt in. Fourth (Ghodeleine) chased handy males last week. KISS AND CRY luckless that MV race: overs? Ties in HORSE FOR HIGHER.
Selections: 5. So You Assume (Top Tip), 2. Barbie’s Fox, 1. Lunar Flare, 6. Kiss And Cry
Race 2:
SPEED: 5 may lead 1 with 4, 7 taking trails. HI STRANGER half knuckled at the start at MV then found a lovely trail after that and wore down NO EFFORT, who was in for the fight! A drier track is no disadvantage to him but is perhaps less of a plus to No Effort. INVERLOCH is off a freshen, he did lead/win here the last time he was at 1600m and beat a horse called Hi Stranger into third that day (they meet on same weight terms). BARADE is a handy horse but has not been at 1600m for a long time. Jumpout win looked good! DARK DREAM fitter/1600m big ticks! BALLET MASTER not hopeless.
Selections: 4. Hi Stranger (Best of the Day), 5. No Effort, 1. Inverloch, 2. Dark Dream
Race 3:
SPEED: 1, 8, 9 from 5, 7 & 11? SECOND SLIP resumes, won fresh last prep, comes off nice trial win in SA. BARTHELONA is well up to these but is off a long break? OCULAR wasn’t in A-ground latest, he was close up prior in open class. OUR WIND SPIRIT was wide/good at Geelong with ROLLS. Winner there then won again MV. DIESEL ‘N’ DUST looked good latest on synthetic. DIAMONDS INTHE SKY led (at pace +5.6L vs ave) fresh against pattern, was only run over late. ZESTY BELLE closed off well same race. DIRTY THOUGHTS good fresh then found SA Lightning a bit hot. VESPERTINE jumped out well/form ties in!
Selections: 8. Diamonds Inthe Sky (Value Bet), 13. Zesty Belle, 9. Dirty Thoughts, 12. Vespertine
Race 4:
SPEED: 6,3 may lead 2,4. PLAQUETTE beat last week’s winner Miss Albania here last time with ABSOLUTE FLIRT the unlucky runner in behind them. BELLA NIPOTINA is stuck one one win but ran very well in Healy Stks EFM at her first run for this stable, with 54kg she is well weighted. PAUL’S REGRET boasts a second to Probabeel off a fresh here (hashtag likeable). PROPELLE was ridden upside/ down here last time. Big watch LADIES OF LONDON (forgive last run: lame). AWANPUNI PRINCESS produced hue finale to win here latest. PARLOPHONE ran home hard fresh in Adelaide, she might be back!!
Selections: 3. Bella Nipotina (Top Tip), 8. Parlophone, 2. Absolute Flirt, 4. Paul’s Regret
Race 5:
SPEED: 4, 8 lead. 5, 7, 15 handy. Plenty of interest here in unbeaten Kiwi ELEPHANT, who resumes. He’s been able to run good time/sectionals at home. WICKLOW TOWN was a top winner here latest sustaining a long run with EVENING GLORY unlucky (in worst ground) behind him. RUBAN BLEU has won at 1400m. JUMBO OZAKI beat all bar in-form King Magnus latest with Scantoon third (ties in Wicklow Town form). IMPERIAL LAD is tough and he runs 1400m out. MIDSHIPS is better suited up in trip. AUSSIE NUGGET has the quality! MAHASHAKTI is unbeaten since her debut and trialled well. ROCK IN THE PARK a hope.
Selections: 11. Elephant (Top Tip), 5. Jumbo Ozaki, 13. Mahashakti, 9. Wicklow Town
Race 6:
SPEED: 5,1,4 go forward but concede most can be handy. GENERATION resumes and has jumped out well enough, his first two wins were soft and in latest he carried 59kg and thrashed a horse called Spinning who had just tested Gimmie Par who had that INGRATIATING form and ran good time for the day given modest tempo. JIGSAW ran faster time than smart Absolute Flirt fresh then was undone back at 1000m with 60kg latest, he drops to 56kg and is back to 1100m with blinkers!! Ingratiating is trialling well, all his form with blinkers is excellent, and at the elite level. GENERAL BEAU can win. MR MOZART value?
Selections: 5. Generation (Top Tip), 4. Jigsaw, 3. Ingratiating, 1. General Beau
Race 7:
SPEED: 14,3 and 6,13, plenty of others can be up there! ARCADED is unbeaten when racing against her own sex and jumped out well. GIMMIE PAR gave top-shelf male Ingratiating a scare on debut then won quite well here. Like the way HI HI HI has been trialling, she wasn’t far off Jamaea in Sweet Embrace Stks and that girl then chased Arcaded before winning Percy Sykes over another smart girl. NAJMATY is also trialling well, her Percy Sykes miss was bit inconclusive? DUCHY OF SAVOY and SWEET MARY were very good MV. LIBIAMO beat Zapateo (won that MV race) on debut! SEE YOU IN SPRING is smart also.
Selections: 7. Gimmie Par (Top Tip), 1. Arcaded, 9. Hi Hi Hi, 4. Najmaty
Race 8:
SPEED: 8 can lead, 4 might be a pest! 2, 6, 7 handy. STREETS OF AVALON looked home when he fought them all off here fresh then was nutted on the wire by SANSOM, both are proven 2nd-up and at 1400m. SUPERSTORM found the 1100m a bit too slick fresh last prep, fancy 1400m is perfect and small (ish) field off (likely) solid clip looks a perfect storm (sorry!). RED CAN MAN will give his all. BEST OF DAYS has fresh form but is now an 8YO so? Did jump out well. SIERRA SUE is back in the good books. NONCONFORMIST and ARCHEDEMUS are in the mix.
Selections: 2. Streets Of Avalon (Top Tip), 4. Superstorm, 7. Sansom, 10. Sierra Sue
Race 9:
Speedmap tricky given most of these can race handy! CROSSHAVEN placed in G1 Orr here fresh last prep. THE INFERNO makes his Oz debut. He’s only been beaten once and jumped out nicely with key rival AWAY GAME, who is just such a genuine mare! OUTRAGEOUS jumped out well and won Flem/1400m fresh last prep, he is a bit underrated! GEE GEE SECONDOVER is good fresh. BRAVE SONG my best blowout if they’re swooping. That was a ”very good last” fresh. LA MEXICANA did a great job working into the headwind fresh with 60kg. ZOU DANCER ran well fresh, she stays at 1200m? PINTOFF is also super-genuine.
Selections: 7. La Mexicana (Top Tip), 3. Away Game, 2. The Inferno, 4. Outrageous
Race 1:
3. Influential Girl, 1. Lunar Flare, 6. Kiss And Cry, 5. So You Assume
Race 2:
1. Inverloch, 2. Dark Dream, 4. Hi Stranger, 5. No Effort
Race 3:
1. Second Slip, 2. Barthelona, 4. Ocular, 12. Vespertine

Race 8: Tiger Of Malay (2.60) (win)
Race 8:
TIGER OF MALAY (1) Game effort to win two runs back at Eagle Farm but resuming after a break. Trainer has gone for the winkers off, take note. Has the ability to take this out. SUBTERRANEAN (2) Got the upper hand late when winning three runs back at Gold Coast and should get going late. Must be considered. CONCOCTED (9) Bold effort to win two runs back at Hawkesbury and dropping weight today. Open to improvement and is a strong chance again. COASTWATCH (7) Really dug deep when winning three runs back at Randwick and likely to race off the speed. Chance.
Race 8: Tiger Of Malay
Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:
Race 8:
The highlight of the day sees 8 males up against the filly PICARONES (who is also entered for R4 as well). Speed supplied by…..not many. Maybe 2 and 4 try to cross up? 9 has settled effectively so far but could maybe try his hand. TIGER OF MALAY was well back in his trial and ended up finishing it off well enough to give him the nod. He rates well above all his rivals in this and despite the inside draw not looking that great for him I am happy trust in McDonald to handle that. BRIGANTINE needs to make a leap in grade but couldn’t do more than he did on return. CONSTRUCT has been something of a problem child but could go on with things now.
Selections: 1. Tiger Of Malay (Top Tip), 8. Brigantine, 3. Construct, 9. Concocted

Race 6:
BEHEMOTH (1) Fresh today. Overrun late when 3rd two runs back at Moonee Valley and going down in class. Top selection. BEAU ROSSA (3) Having second run back from a break. Won by a big margin last time at this track and can find a nice position from the draw. Should get a lovely cart into it from just behind the pace. Can dominate and win. DALASAN (2) Resuming after a break. Good result placing 3rd last run at Randwick and strong performer at this distance in the past. Can threaten if right today. SECOND SLIP (5) First up from a break. Solid effort when winning three runs back at Murray Bridge but rises in weight. Minor prospects.
Race 6: Behemoth
Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:
Race 6:
BEAU ROSSA easily accounted for the opposition in the Lightning Stakes a fortnight ago. He’ll strip fitter and is unbeaten second-up. BEHEMOTH looked good winning a recent Balaklava trial. He won the Durbridge Stakes when first up here in January. The heavy 10 conditions were against ONE MORE JACK at his first run back from a break. Look for an improved showing from him. SECOND SLIP went through his grades well last time in work. He’ll push forward from the inside gate and could prove hard to run down. DALASAN, RITRATTO and PERFECT ROUTE are all at their best over further.
Selections: 3. Beau Rossa (Best of the Day), 1. Behemoth, 6. One More Jack, 5. Second Slip
