Everton vs. Aston Villa |
Aston Villa in the head-to-head at 2.65 (Picklebet)
This is primarily a bet against Everton. The Toffees bring league-worst 1-2-9 from into this fixture. They parted ways with Rafael Benitez following last week’s defeat to Norwich, but that won’t fix the rumoured problems in the dressing room. Aston Villa, meanwhile, look like a team on the up under Steven Gerrard.
Over 2.5 goals at 2.00 (Picklebet)
Five of Everton’s last six fixtures went over 2.5 goals while six of Aston Villa’s last eight games went over this total. Seven of Everton’s last eight home fixtures against Aston Villa went over 2.5 goals.
Leeds vs. Newcastle |
Leeds in the head-to-head at 1.98 (Picklebet)
Leeds +0.5 at 1.31 (Picklebet)
Leeds bring consecutive wins into this clash while Newcastle have lost three straight on the road. After 20 games Newcastle have won just one game this season and they have gone 0-3-6 on the road. Leeds won this clash by a three-goal margin last season.
Brentford vs. Wolves |
Wolves in the head-to-head at 2.55 (Picklebet)
Wolves +0.5 at 1.40 (Picklebet)
At the time of writing Brentford have yet to play their midweek clash against Man Utd, but regardless of how that plays out, their exertions will have put them at a disadvantage against Wolverhampton, who will have had a week between games. Brentford have lost four of their last five and their last two defeats were by three-goal margins. Wolverhampton bring 3-1-0 form into this clash and they only conceded one goal across those four games.
Arsenal vs. Burnley |
Arsenal in the head-to-head at 1.43 (Picklebet)
Arsenal have won four of their last five with their sole defeat coming by a narrow margin against Man City. The Gunners have gone 11-2-1 as the home favourite over the last 12 months. Burnley have lost their last three games and they’ve lost five of their last six visits to Emirates Stadium. The sale of their striker Chris Wood to relegation rivals Newcastle won’t have helped locker room spirits.
Crystal Palace vs. Liverpool |
Liverpool in the head-to-head at 1.58 (Picklebet)
Both sides have been impacted negatively by Africa Cup of Nations absentees. This should weigh in Liverpool’s favour given their greater squad depth. Liverpool have won six straight against Crystal Palace and nine straight at Selhurst Park. Their last four wins over the Eagles were by a combined 16 goals to nil.
