To take advantage of the odds before they possibly shorten, these previews are published before the team sheets are announced. Those who are more risk-averse should wait for the squad lists before wagering.
Blues vs. Force |
This should just be a question of how much the Blues win by. The Blues have gone 7-0 at home over the last twelve months and they covered the line in five of those seven wins. They have won all six previous home fixtures against the Force and they have won eight in a row against the Perth franchise. The Force have gone 0-7 away from home over the last twelve months and they failed to cover the line in six of those seven defeats. The two factors pointing against a completely dominant Blues’ win are the fact that the Force have covered the line in their last four games against the Blues and the fact that the Blues might be tempted to rotate the squad this weekend. Given the Blues have a bye next week, I will presume that they will field a strong side. Nine of the Force’s ten defeats over the last twelve months were by 13+ margins, so if I had to bet on this game I would back the Blues 13+ at 1.36 (bet365).
Rebels vs. Fijian Drua |
The location of this game plays a key role in this pick. The Rebels have gone 2-0 as the home favourite over the last twelve months, while the Fijian Drua have gone 0-8 away from Fiji. The Drua failed to cover the line in six of those eight defeats. I would back the Rebels in the head-to-head at 1.69 (Bet Right). At the time of writing this selection is as low as 1.56 with other bookmakers.
Brumbies vs. Waratahs |
The Brumbies have won four in a row while the Waratahs have lost four in a row. The Brumbies have gone 5-0 as the home favourite over the last twelve months and they have won eleven consecutive games against the Waratahs. The Waratahs have gone 2-6 as the underdog over the last twelve months. Four of their five away defeats during this period were by 13+ margins. I would back the Brumbies in the head-to-head at 1.35 (PlayUp). At the time of writing this selection is as low as 1.22 with other bookmakers.
