Crystal Palace vs. West Ham |
Over 2.5 goals at 1.84 (Betfair)
West Ham’s last three visits to Selhurst Park went over 4.5 goals. Over the last twelve months, 17 of West Ham’s 21 away games went over 2.5. Crystal Palace’s average total score at home this season is 3.0, while West Ham’s average total score away from home is 3.7.
Crystal Palace 2-3 West Ham correct score at 36.00 (Betfair)
I love to bet on history to repeat itself so I will have a small bet on the Crystal Palace 2-3 West Ham scoreline. The Hammers have beaten the Eagles by this score in three of their last eleven meetings, including two of their last three meeting at Selhurst Park. West Ham have scored three goals in two of their last three away games (they scored twice in the other). The Hammers scored three goals in each of their last three visits to Selhurst Park. Palace’s last home game resulted in a 2-4 defeat, which is not a mile away from the 2-3 scoreline.
Arsenal vs. Chelsea |
Over 2.5 goals at 1.50 (bet365)
Largely driven by the in-form Cole Palmer, Chelsea’s offence has been in top gear recently. This has been them score 2+ goals in eight of their last nine games. Defensively they have been poor, however, which has seen them concede 2+ goals in five of their last six games. Nine of Chelsea’s last ten games went over 3.5 goals as a result. After a long run of high-scoring games, Arsenal have had a short run of lower-scoring fixtures, but I expect they will find the back of the net against Chelsea’s porous defence. Eight of the last twelve meetings between these two sides went over 2.5 goals, and that was back when Chelsea knew how to defend. Looking at the Interactive EPL Form Guide, five of Chelsea’s last six away games against strong opponents went over 2.5 goals and four of those six went over 3.5 goals. Arsenal’s average total score at home this season is 3.3, while Chelsea’s average total score away from home is 3.5.
Man Utd vs. Sheffield Utd |
Man Utd in the head-to-head at 1.30 (bet365)
Manchester United have been disappointing this season and they are on a bad run, even by this season’s low standards. They take on the team with the league’s worst 1-3-12 away record, however, in Sheffield United. The Blades’ goal difference from those 16 games is an eye-watering -24.
Everton vs. Liverpool |
Under 2.5 goals at 2.60 (Betfair)
Under 3.5 goals at 1.64 (Unibet)
Half of Everton’s games over the last twelve months went under 2.5 goals. Their average total score at home this season is 2.3, which is the lowest in the league. Nine of Liverpool’s last thirteen league visits to Goodison Park went under 2.5 goals. The last four Premier League encounters between Everton and Liverpool went under 2.5 goals.
Draw at 4.80 (Betfair)
This fixture has a strong history of a stalemate. Nine of the last fourteen league games between Everton and Liverpool at Goodison Park resulted in a draw. This includes eight of the last eleven meetings when Liverpool was installed as the favourite. Four of the last five Merseyside derbies at Goodison Park resulted in a draw.
0-0 Correct Score at 22.00 (Betfair)
Four of the last six Merseyside derbies at Goodison Park resulted in a 0-0 score.
Crystal Palace vs. Newcastle |
Newcastle +0.5 at 1.45 (Betfair)
Newcastle in the head-to-head at 2.38 (Betfair)
Crystal Palace have gone 0-1-5 as the home underdog over the last twelve months. Newcastle will be better rested than Palace due to having had no weekend fixture leading up to this midweek clash. The Magpies bring 3-1-0 form into this game. They have avoided defeat in six of the last seven games as the favourite at Selhurst Park.
Brighton vs. Man City |
Man City +0.0 (Draw No Bet) at 1.23 (Betfair)
Manchester City have a horrific fixture schedule in April, but if anyone can rotate their squad with limited impact, it is City. They bring 13-4-0 league form into this clash and they boast an 11-1-1 record against Brighton since the Seagulls were promoted. City have scored 4+ goals in their last three EPL fixtures. Brighton will be well-rested for this clash, however they are struggling for goals at the moment, which has seen them lose three of their last six games. This included a 0-3 home defeat to Arsenal. The Seagulls have scored just four goals across their last seven games.
