At the time of writing the biggest Draftstars contest for this round is the $50,000 competition for the Friday night clash between Brisbane and St Kilda. Entry costs $15 and the top 25% of participants will receive a payout.
Brisbane vs. St Kilda |
I expect Brisbane will win. The Lions have gone 11-3 at home over the last twelve months and they have won four in a row against the Saints. St Kilda have gone 1-7 as the away underdog over the last twelve months. At the same time, I expect a competitive contest. Brisbane won this clash by just 12 points last year. St Kilda’s nine away defeats over the last twelve months were all by 1-39 margins and seven of those defeats were by 1-24 margins. Looking back further, St Kilda’s four defeats in Brisbane over the last decade were all by 1-39 margins and three of those were by 1-24 margins. I would back Brisbane 1-39 at 2.15 (Dabble).
For those looking at the total score market, the average total score at the Gabba this season is 153.2. St Kilda’s average total score away from home this season is just 143.1. This has seen seven of the Saints’ eight away games go under the total. The last four meetings between Brisbane and St Kilda went under the total. I would back under 163.5 at 1.89 (bet365).
Richmond vs. Hawthorn |
Richmond bring 1-8 form into this game, while Hawthorn have won five of their last six. The Hawks have covered the line in their last six fixtures. Richmond have gone 3-15 as the underdog over the last twelve months. I would back Hawthorn in the head-to-head at 1.53 (BlueBet). Richmond have shown improved competitiveness in their last three rounds, following a series of heavy defeats, while Hawthorn’s last five wins were by 1-39 margins. Those looking for more risk should consider Hawthorn 1-39 at 2.10 (Dabble).
Adelaide vs. Sydney |
Sydney bring an eight-game winning streak into this game and they covered the line in seven of those wins. The Swans have won their last four against Adelaide. Sydney have won and covered the line in their last three away games against Adelaide. Sydney have also covered the line in their last three away fixtures. I would back Sydney in the head-to-head at 1.41 (Betfair). All 14 of Adelaide’s defeats over the last twelve months were by 1-39 margins, while seven of Sydney’s 9 away wins were by the same margin. Those looking for more risk should consider Sydney 1-39 at 2.06 (Unibet).
