At the time of writing the biggest Draftstars contest for this round is the $50,000 competition for the Friday night clash between Collingwood and Essendon. Entry costs $15 and the top 25% of participants will receive a payout.

Collingwood

Collingwood vs. Essendon

Essendon

Essendon sit higher on the ladder than Collingwood, but the Bombers have stumbled of late. They have lost three of their last four games and they failed to cover the line in their last six fixtures. Collingwood have gone 9-2 as the home favourite over the last twelve months and they have gone 4-1-0 in their last five clashes against Essendon. I would back Collingwood in the head-to-head at 1.59 (Betfair).

Geelong

Geelong vs. Hawthorn

Hawthorn

Hawthorn have gone 1-7 as the away underdog over the last twelve months, however they bring 7-1 form into this clash and the Hawks have covered the line in their last eight fixtures. Over the last twelve months, Hawthorn have gone 10-2 at the line away from home. GMHBA Stadium hasn’t been the fortress it once was for the Cats. Geelong have gone 3-2 in the head-to-head and 1-4 at the line at this venue in 2024. I would back Hawthorn +24.5 at 1.40 (bet365). Those looking for more risk should consider Geelong 1-24 at 3.25 (Dabble).

GWS

GWS vs. Carlton

Carlton

GWS bring 2-6 form into this clash, while Carlton have both won and covered the line in their last five fixtures. Looking back further, Carlton have gone 11-3 at the line away from home over the last twelve months and 5-1 at the line as the away favourite. In the head-to-head, Carlton boast a 6-0 record as the away favourite over the last twelve months. I would back Carlton in the head-to-head at 1.80 (PlayUp). GWS haven’t suffered a 40+ home defeat over the last twelve months, so those looking for more risk should consider Carlton 1-39 at 2.30 (Dabble).

St Kilda

St Kilda vs. Sydney

Sydney

St Kilda bring 3-8 form into this clash and they have gone 1-5 at the line at Marvel Stadium this season. Sydney have won 10 of their last 11 games and their only defeat during that stretch was by a 1-point margin. The Swans have gone 10-3 at the line away from home over the last twelve months. Sydney have won their last six away games and they covered the line in their last five away fixtures. Sydney have gone 8-1 as the away favourite over the last twelve months, while St Kilda have gone 3-11 as the underdog. Over the last decade, St Kilda have gone 2-6 as the home underdog against the Swans. Only one of St Kilda’s 14 home defeats over the last twelve months was by 40+ and 5 of their 6 home defeats were by 1-24 margins, so I would back Sydney 1-39 at 2.10 (Dabble).

Brisbane

Brisbane vs. Adelaide

Adelaide

Brisbane boast an 11-3 head-to-head record at home over the last twelve months, however they have only gone 4-10 at the line. Adelaide have a miserable 1-6 record as the away underdog over the last twelve months, however they have gone 5-2 at the line as the away dog. Adelaide have yet to lose an away game by 40+ over the last twelve months. Over the last decade, all four of Brisbane’s home wins over Adelaide were by 1-39 margins. The two sides drew earlier this season and last year Brisbane won this fixture by just six points. I would back Brisbane 1-39 at 2.30 (Dabble).
