At the time of writing the biggest Draftstars contest for this round is the $50,000 competition for the Melbourne v Collingwood clash on Friday night. Entry costs $15 and the top 25% of participants will receive a payout.

Table Standings

With one round to play, ten sides have a mathematical chance of making the top eight, however Collingwood would need a huge amount to go its way. Sydney, in all likelihood, has secured the minor premiership. Geelong’s defeat last week means that five sides have a mathematical chance of taking the final top 4 spot.

Geelong

Geelong vs. West Coast

West Coast

Geelong needs the win to secure a top 4 place, while West Coast’s season ended a long time back. Over the last decade, West Coast has gone 0-9 away from home against Geelong and eight of those defeats were by 25+. The Eagles have gone 1-9 away from home this season and all nine defeats were by 25+ margins. I would back Geelong 25+ at 1.28 (Dabble).

Sydney

Sydney vs. Adelaide

Adelaide

Sydney has gone 8-2 at home this season and the Swans covered the line in seven of those wins. Adelaide has gone 3-7 away from home this season and 1-7 as the away underdog. The Swans have won their last five clashes against the Crows and Sydney covered the line in their last two meetings. After suffering through a late-season 1-4 slump, Sydney will want to win this final home fixture to bring three-game winning momentum into the playoffs. The Crows will finish 15th, regardless of this result, so they will likely have one eye on the off-season. I would back Sydney in the head-to-head at 1.41 (Betfair).

Carlton

Carlton vs. St Kilda

St Kilda

The severely under-strength Carlton has seen its last four games go under the total. St Kilda has averaged 148.8 total points in its away games this season, which is the lowest in the league. Over the last twelve months, 10 of the Saints’ 12 away games went under the bookmaker’s total. At Marvel Stadium this season, 8 of St Kilda’s 12 games went under the bookmaker’s total. The two 2023 meetings between Carlton and St Kilda saw 142 and 127 total points. I would back Under 176.5 at 1.50 (bet365).
