Leicester vs. Aston Villa |
Aston Villa in the head-to-head at 1.86 (Betfair)
Aston Villa put in a good performance in their home defeat to Arsenal last week. It took some spectacular saves from the Arsenal goalkeeper to keep them at bay. Aston Villa boast a 6-3-0 record on the back of a defeat over the last twelve months and over the same period, they went 5-2-1 as the away favourite. Leicester City were reliant on Tottenham’s wastefulness in their first round draw before they were beaten by Fulham last week. The Foxes have a midweek EFL Cup game prior to this clash, while Aston Villa do not.
Brentford vs. Southampton |
Brentford in the head-to-head at 1.87 (Betfair)
Southampton enjoyed 77.8% of possession against 10-man Newcastle in Gameweek 1 and 64.6% of possession against Nottingham Forest last week, but they have yet to score this season. Prior to their relegation, Southampton had lost their last three games against Brentford by a combined eight goals to nil.
Under 2.5 goals at 2.22 (Betfair)
Under 3.5 goals at 1.44 (bet365)
Southampton have failed to score, but their possession-dominated games means they haven’t conceded too many chances either. Both of the Saints’ games so far this season went under 1.5 goals. Brentford, meanwhile, continue to leave striker Ivan Toney out of the squad.
Nottm Forest vs. Wolves |
Draw at 3.70 (Unibet)
Nottingham Forest have a draw-heavy 1-6-0 record as the home favourite over the last twelve months. Their last three games against Wolverhampton resulted in a stalemate.
West Ham vs. Man City |
Man City in the head-to-head at 1.42 (bet365)
Man City -1.5 at 2.17 (Betfair)
West Ham have a midweek EFL Cup fixture ahead of this clash, while Man City do not. City completed the double over West Ham in the last two seasons and all four wins were by 2+ goal margins. Looking back further, Man City’s last ten away wins over West Ham were by 2+ goal margins. Spanning this season and the last, Man City have won eleven consecutive games and all eleven wins were by 2+ goal margins.
Chelsea vs. Crystal Palace |
Chelsea in the head-to-head at 1.66 (Betfair)
Chelsea have won thirteen consecutive league games against Crystal Palace. The Blues come into this game on the back of a 6-2 away win over Wolverhampton. Palace sold their best player in Michael Olise and one of their top two centre-backs in Joachim Andersen in the transfer window. The Eagles have made a 0-0-2 start to the season.
