betr review

A review of the bookmaker betr has been published. This comprehensive review is part of a series on betting agencies that are suitable for Australians. All reviews form part of the Bookmaker Reviews section on this website. A full survey of betting agencies can be found in the Betting Agencies section.

Below are the summary details.

Upsides

  • Backed by Matt Tripp and Michael Sullivan, two big names in Australian sports betting
  • Employs its own cloud-based technology platform (most other Australian bookmakers employ a third party betting solution)
  • In-play phone betting is supported
  • Can quickly verify your identity online
  • Broad range of deposit options, including PayPal
  • Flexi betting and same-race multis are available
  • Competitive $100,000 win limits for Australian racing, sports and multi bets
  • Live chat support is available during office hours
  • Cashing out of bets before the event starts is supported
  • Intuitive betting interface with excellent navigation
  • The number of markets per fixture is increasing all the time
  • The range of features grows every time we re-review the website

Downsides

  • Slower to offer certain markets. For example Total Score markets for the NRL are typically made available on Wednesday. This is in contrast to Monday or Tuesday for other leading bookmakers.
  • Their bookmaker margins aren’t industry-leading. For example, 1.90 line odds are used, compared to 1.91 that can be found elsewhere.

Bottom Line

betr will only go from strength to strength now that represents the merger of BlueBet and the original betr. The merger has taken the broad customer base of betr and applied it to the in-house betting technology developed by BlueBet. betr now leads the pack amongst the newer Australian brands that are trying to make inroads into an industry that remains dominated by English and Irish-owned companies. A key difference between betr and the other new brands is it is backed by Matt Tripp and Michael Sullivan, two well-known names in the Australian betting industry. The range of markets and features is growing all the time. Same-race multis and in-play phone betting are among a raft of new features since we last reviewed this service.
