Tottenham vs. Newcastle |
Newcastle in the head-to-head at 2.28 (Unibet)
Tottenham bring 1-1-4 form into this game, which is largely due to their porous, injury-hit defence. Newcastle, meanwhile, have won four in a row by a combined 13 goals to nil. Tottenham have gone 0-0-5 as the home underdog over the last twelve months. Spurs have been generous hosts over the festive period. Five of the last six visitors to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium scored at least twice. Those 2+ goal-scoring visitors include Ipswich and Wolverhampton.
Man City vs. West Ham |
3-1 correct score at 11.00 (bet365)
Can lightning strike four times in a row? Man City’s last three games against West Ham resulted in 3-1 wins.
Aston Villa vs. Leicester |
Over 2.5 goals at 1.53 (bet365)
Fourteen of Aston Villa’s 19 home games over the last twelve months went over 2.5 goals. Their last four games, home and away, went over 2.5. Eight of Leicester City’s nine away games this season went over 2.5 and six of those went over 3.5. The Foxes’ average total score away from home this season is 4.0, which is the second highest in the league. Leicester City’s last four visits to Villa Park went over 2.5 goals.
Crystal Palace vs. Chelsea |
Chelsea in the head-to-head at 1.95 (Betfair)
Chelsea +0.5 at 1.30 (Betfair)
This is a bet that Chelsea will bounce back to winning ways. The Blues have gone 9-4-1 as the away favourite over the last twelve months and they have won six in a row at Selhurst Park. Crystal Palace required a controversial goal to beat Southampton 2-1 at home last round. The home game before that they were thrashed 1-5 by Arsenal. Chelsea’s 6-2-2 away record is second only to Liverpool’s. Crystal Palace have the 16th ranked 2-4-4 home record this season.
Bournemouth vs. Everton |
Under 2.5 at 2.00 (bet365)
Everton continue to struggle to score goals, but they are well organised defensively and they boast an excellent goalkeeper. This combination has seen ten of their last twelve games go under 2.5. goals. Bournemouth’s average total score at home this season is just 2.0, which is the second lowest in the league. This has seen six of their nine home fixtures go under 2.5 goals.
SGM: Bournemouth +0.5 & Under 2.5 at 2.37 (bet365)
You could boost the total score selection by combining it with Bournemouth to win or draw (double chance / +0.5 Asian Handicap). Everton have gone 1-7-8 as the away underdog over the last twelve months and they have gone 0-2-5 at Dean Court in the Premier League.
Liverpool vs. Man Utd |
Liverpool -1.5 at 1.725 (bet365)
Liverpool bring 7-2-0 form into this clash and they have gone 7-1-1 at home this season. The Reds’ last four wins were by 2+ goal margins. Manchester United, meanwhile, have lost three in a row by a combined seven goals to nil. All three defeats were by 2+ goal margins. Over the last twelve months, 11 of Liverpool’s 14 home wins were by 2+ goals. Over the last decade, 10 of Man Utd’s 11 defeats to Liverpool were by 2+ goal margins. Liverpool have already beaten Man Utd at Old Trafford this season by a 3-0 scoreline.
Liverpool 2-0 Man Utd correct score at 9.00 (bet365)
Eight out of Liverpool’s fourteen home wins over the last twelve months were by 2-goal margins. Manchester United have failed to score in their last three games. Three of Man Utd’s last five defeats were by 2-0 scorelines. This includes their last two away defeats against Wolves and Arsenal.
Wolves vs. Nottm Forest |
Nottingham Forest +0.5 at 1.47 (Betfair)
Wolves have enjoyed a new manager bounce, but I’m happy to side with Nottingham Forest at the handicap. Forest have rewarded their backers by going 9-4-1 as the favourite over the last twelve months. They bring a five-game winning streak into this clash and they kept clean sheets in their last three games. Wolverhampton have gone 1-0-10 as the home underdog over the last twelve months.
