Both teams enter this game on the back of disappointing results. Forest’s heavy away defeat to Bournemouth ended an eight-game (7-1-0) unbeaten run, while Brighton’s home defeat to Everton ended a six-game (2-4-0) unbeaten streak. I will take Forest at the +0.5 handicap in this fixture because they have gone 7-4-1 as the home favourite over the last twelve months and they already drew Brighton at Amex Stadium earlier in the season. Brighton’ are a tough nut to defeat, but they haven’t won frequently of late. The Seagulls have gone 2-6-3 in their last eleven games.

Newcastle bring 7-0-1 form into this clash. Six of their seven wins were by 2+ goals and four were by 3+ goals. After enjoying an eight-game unbeaten run, Fulham have since lost two of the last three and their performance against Man Utd last week was particularly poor. Newcastle have won six of their last eight clashes with Fulham.

Both sides bring excellent form into this clash, but Bournemouth have the advantage of a lighter schedule. Gameweek 23 was sandwiched between UEFA Champions League fixtures and Liverpool have the EFL Cup semi-final second leg after this game, so you can forgive them if they are off the pace. A few weeks ago, Bournemouth thrashed Newcastle 4-1 to end the Magpies’ 9-game unbeaten streak in all competitions, proving they are a dangerous side to play if you’re fatigued.

Gameweek 23 was sandwiched between UEFA Europa League fixtures and following this Gameweek, Tottenham play Liverpool in the EFL Cup semi-final second leg, so they will be far less fresh and focused than Brentford. Defence has been the main issue. Tottenham’s last five league opponents all scored 2+ goals. The last five meetings between Brentford and Tottenham all went over 3.5 goals, so a high scoring Brentford win looks on the cards.
