Adelaide United vs Melbourne CityFriday February 07, 7:35pm |
Adelaide United are currently preparing to take on Melbourne City at home, in what at the time of writing is 2nd vs 7th on the table. However the ‘Reds’ are less then two wins behind 1st place with a game in hand. Whilst a dub to the ‘Blue side of Melbourne’ would put them just one point off their 2nd place opposition. Making this clash a must watch is the fact that ex-Reds coach/player Aurelio Vidmar will be coaching against his former employers as he is now the head coach of City. Vidmar previously coached the South Australian outfit to 2nd place in the regular season, as well as a Grand Final. The ironically-Adelaide born Man who once infamously claimed that it was a “piss-ant town” now has been tasked with taking it down. Similarly to the ‘Reds’ he’s been leading the charge at Melbourne with a youth revival and it’s been working pretty well. The visitors are undefeated in six of their last eight away games. And the last time they played the hosts they won 1-0 despite Adelaide shooting 6/25 on target. However Carl Veart’s troops are unbeaten in eight of their last nine at home meaning this game is well and truly on.
Betting tips: Back the second half to be the highest scoring one at $1.97 (TopSport)
Also back prolific Adelaide attacker Archie Goodwin to score anytime at $2.48 (Unibet)
And look for the ‘Reds’ to open the scoring at $1.71 (TopSport)
Sydney FC vs Western Sydney WanderersSaturday February 08, 7:35pm |
Sydney FC have dammingly won their last four consecutive derbies against the Western Sydney Wanderers and have put for goals past them in two of those heated affairs. Additionally the last time the ‘Red & Black’ scored two or more strikes versus the ‘Sky Blues’ was in early 2022. Make no two guesses about it this is a matchup that has been dominated by only one team and just the one team as of late as Alen Stajcic’s Men have struggled to close in the gap on their biggest rivals. The hosts last round thrashed Adelaide United at home 4-1, as they shot 7/19 on target and owned 54% possession of the ball. As for the visitors they struggled against the cellar-dwelling Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium, winning 1-0. As they allowed the Roar to have more shots (13 vs 10) and possession (55% vs 45%) then them. Unless Western Sydney can get the ball rolling, both literally and figuratively, with an early goal then it will more then likely be the Cove cheering come the full-time whistle.
Betting tips: Pick the ‘Sky Blues’ to be victorious at $1.70 (Bet365)
Also pick the total corner count to be at nine plus at $1.29 (Unibet)
And look for the Wanderers to score the games last strike at $2.45 (Dabble)
Macarthur FC vs Western UnitedSunday February 09, 7:00pm |
Jed Drew, Oliver Jones and Ariath Piol have all recently been sold on by Macarthur so that they can achieve their full potential overseas. The ‘Bulls’ have made some solid signings to replace the now departed trio, however the reigning Australia Cup winners undoubtedly have a lot of things to work/train on in the leadup to their clash versus Western United. The Campbelltown-based club to their credit are currently occupying a finals spot and are just four-points off of 2nd place. Whilst the ‘Green & Black’ at the time of writing are 5th and just one win off 2nd position on the ladder. This clash is bursting at the seams with excitement as some of the A-League’s newest franchises have plenty to compete for. Look no further then three of their last five clashes locking horns. As recently as 2024 Western United won 4-2 at home, whilst there was a 3-3 draw at Campbelltown Stadium. And before that there was a thrilling 2-2 draw at the same location. Now departed ‘Bull’ Drew thought he had won the game nine-minutes from time with his low-placed, rebounding effort. That before Adisu Bayew brilliantly found Nicolas Milanovic inside the box in the 89th minute, as the young ‘Aussie’ made no mistake, firing home for the equaliser. Even as a neutral this game will be brilliant to tune into.
Betting tips: Choose both teams to score at $1.42 (Dabble)
Also choose both H1 and H2 to witness strikes at $1.45 (TopSport)
And back Noah Botic to score anytime at $3.05 (Unibet)
