The Blues went 10-0 at home last season. They averaged 37.6 points scored and just 11.8 points conceded in those games. The Blues beat the Chiefs by 31-17 and 41-10 margins last season. This extended their home winning streak against the Hamilton franchise to five games. The Blues welcome back Beauden Barrett into the fold this season, while the Chiefs have been rocked by a possible season-ending injury to 2024 World Rugby’s Breakout Player of the Year Wallace Sititi. The Chiefs went 1-3 as the away underdog last season. I would back the Blues in the head-to-head at 1.47 (bet365).

Force vs. Moana Pasifika |

The Force have undergone a high amount of player turnover during the off-season, so it may be a while before the squad settles and the coach knows his besting starting XV. Moana Pasifika put in respectable performances against the Highlanders and Chiefs in pre-season and they have been bolstered by the signing of 2023 World Player of the Year, Ardie Savea. Moana Pasifika’s two previous away games against the Force resulted in a three-point defeat and an eight-point win. I would back Moana Pasifika +8.5 at 1.91 (bet365).
