Macarthur FC vs Sydney FCSaturday March 01, 7:35pm |
![]() |
Desperate times call for desperate measures and on Saturday evening we’ll witness who wants to play finals Football more, as both the ‘Bulls’ and ‘Sky Blues’ contest for the Charity Cup under the guise of the Sony Foundation. However the two arch-rivals ought to be anything but charitable in this Derby given what’s on the line. Both sides are currently on the slide out of the Top Six and desperately need three points to catapult them right back in there. Macarthur have just a single victory from their last eight clashes at Campbelltown Stadium. Meanwhile Sydney have just one win from their last seven away games. Which team halts their shaky form with a massive, massive win?
This will be Macarthur’s first appearance in the post-Valere Germain era after the ex-captain sensationally quit the club recently after citing the A-Leagues poor officiating as his reason for doing so. His output will be difficult for the club to replace. However the visiting Joe Lolley will be desperate to deliver his side a critical victory and keep them within touching distance of a finals spot. Across both the regular season and AFC Champions League 2 he’s conjured up nine goals and seven assists so far. The ex-Nottingham Forest Midfielder has also displayed time and time again this campaign that he is capable of carrying the team on his back. Case in point, last time he versed Macarthur he scored a sensational goal from the edge of the box after creating some space for himself to put them 2-0 up, a finals match Sydney eventually won 4-0 at Allianz Stadium to eliminate the ‘Bulls’ from contention. Look for him to have another big game here in a commanding Sydney FC victory.
Betting tips: Look for a Sydney FC dub at $2.10 (Bet365, BetR)
Also look for Sydney to open the scoring at $1.57 (bet365)
And back there to be 1+ goals in each half at $1.36 (bet365)
Plus look for Joe Lolley to score anytime at $2.25 (Unibet)

Western Sydney Wanderers vs Perth GlorySunday March 02, 5:00pm |
![]() |
The ‘Red & Black’ from Western Sydney are playing some scintillating Football at the moment and as a result a victory against the Glory could put them as high as equal 2nd on the ladder. They have impressively won three of their last four games, with the other result being a draw. And over their last three games alone they’ve scored nine goals, including a last-start 4-0 rout of the Mariners at Industree Group Stadium last weekend. That’s in stark comparison to Perth who are second-last on the table and have collected just eleven-points through 19 matches contested so far. Additionally, Alen Stajcic’s Men have also won three of their last four clashes against the visitors. This includes last time over in WA where they prevailed 2-1 after owning 57% possession of the ball and shooting 4/18 on target. Will the Wanderers fine form continue or can the Glory cause a monumental upset?
Against the Mariners on the Central Coast the Wanderers kept them to 3/14 on target and limited them to just 44% possession of the ball as well. The week before against Macarthur in Parramatta they kept them to just the solitary strike and only 11 shots all up. Suffice to say the Wanderers defence has taken some serious strides in recent weeks and that again should be something that benefits them in this encounter. Last round against Sydney FC, Perth Goalkeeper Ollie Sail had to make a plethora of saves in order to keep his side within the game at HBF Park. However sustained pressure from the likes of Zac Sapsford – 3 goals + 1 assist from his last three games and Nicolas Milanovic – 2 goals from his last two games and 8 on the season should 100% be enough to see the hosts through right here.
Betting tips: Pick a Western Sydney victory at $1.46 (Unibet)
Also pick them to score first at $1.33 (bet365)
Look for the Wanderers to also get the most corners at $1.41 (Unibet)
And look for Zac Sapsford to score anytime at $2.40 (bet365)
