Central Coast Mariners

Central Coast Mariners vs Perth Glory

Sunday March 30, 3:00pm

Industree Group Stadium

Perth Glory

On nye of 2023 the Mariners and Glory contested an all-time classic at Industree Group Stadium. Despite being pegged one behind in the 18th minute after a low drilled strike from Adam Taggart, before the half was up the Central Coast took full control of the affair, as they headed into halftime up by two goals. The best of the bunch being a beautiful pass from Joshua Nisbet to Jacob Farrell which allowed the latter a classy, yet easy goal. Perth pulled one back early in the second half courtesy of Stefan Colakovski. Then Mark Beevers was handed his second yellow resulting in a red in the 90th minute, before Marco Tulio converted the spot kick with ease and grabbed his second of the evening. Aleksander Sunsjar also received his second yellow in the 5th minute of added time, whilst David Williams received a solitary yellow card, as did Dan Hall for the hosts. Suffice to say things are never boring when these two rivals clash and hopefully we’ll see more of the same on Sunday?

We should see a hell of a lot of entertainment in this encounter. But also two teams really vying for a positive result to help end their season on a high. The Central Coast are the back-to-back Champions and have absolutely faltered this campaign, whilst the Glory have seen their season be bashed about with some pretty heavy results from Day One. For the Central Coast and Mark Jackson this game is all about the youngsters. Haine Eames is a prime example, the 17-year-old recently captained the club and has done some exemplary work this season with two goals and one assist from 18 games, whilst also participating in five ACL games. The Aussie Midfielder is a serious future talent and undoubtedly has great sell-on potential. Meanwhile for Perth they’re last and are doing everything possible to avoid finishing there under the guise of new ownership.  Both sides will come out competing in Gosford, that much is guaranteed.

Betting tips: Choose Perth to score the last goal at $2.40 (Dabble)

Also choose the Glory to get 2+ goals at $2.75 (Bet365)

And back the second half to be the highest scoring period at $1.95 (Bet365)

Brisbane Roar

Brisbane Roar vs Auckland FC

Sunday March 30, 5:00pm

Suncorp Stadium

Sitting in 1st on 42 competition points the ‘Black Knights’ have nearly quadruple the amount of points that the 12th placed Roar do on 11. Brisbane have lost 11 of their last 13 games at home and their last win at Suncorp came well over a year ago. Whilst for Auckland they are unbeaten in their last four affairs on the road and two of those have been clean sheets against Western United and Western Sydney respectively, both being sides who are well placed to play Finals Football this campaign. However perhaps giving the hosts the slightest possible chance here is that lately Auckland haven’t quite been themselves as they’ve drawn their last three straight matches. Most recently it was 2-2 versus the struggling Mariners at home, then they conceded the opener at McDonald Jones Stadium before drawing 1-1 versus the Jets and then it was a topsy turvy 4-4 result against the ‘Reds’ at Go Media Stadium. Whereas for Brisbane last time out they dismantled the Glory 3-1 in Perth. If they play like the did in WA then perhaps they have a shot of a giant upset?

Samuel Klein exploded for the Roar in his sides two-goal triumph against the Glory. He scored two goals and threatened all over the park, as the former 21-year-old Gold Coast Knights Midfielder almost single handedly delivered the opposition a crushing blow of Wooden Spoon proportions. In what’s been a turbulent campaign on and off the park for Brisbane, Klein has been a breath of fresh air for embattled coach Ruben Zadkovich. With Klein undoubtedly going to be given another chance to flash his potential, it’s crucial that he backs it up with another big game.

However rival Midfielder Neyder Moreno will certainly prove to be a hard challenge for the Kid. It’s only been just over a month since he bagged two goals and an assist in his sides 6-1 Derby drubbing of the Phoenix. Whilst before that he produced four straight games with an assist or goal. The ex-Copa Colombia victor has been a menace on the pitch this season for Auckland and is seven-years his rival Midfielders senior. Moreno will be all set up to try and take full advantage of a youthful rival side.

Betting tips: Look for a strong Auckland win at $1.90 (Bet365)

Also look for Auckland to score first at $1.57 (Bet365)

And back the ‘Black Knights’ to earn the most corners at $1.89 (UniBet)
