North Melbourne vs. Gold Coast |
![]() |
North Melbourne were humbled by an under-strength Sydney last week and they now play a ‘home’ game on neutral soil. Spanning this season and the last, the Kangaroos are in 2-9 form. The Gold Coast Suns are 3-0 for the season and they have got their away form monkey off their back by picking up two wins outside of Queensland. Spanning this season and the last, the Suns have won and covered the line in four straight games. There aren’t any strong trends in the margins market, so I will simply back Gold Coast in the head-to-head at 1.26 (PlayUp).

Melbourne vs. Essendon |
![]() |
Melbourne have been a huge disappointment so far this season. They have started 0-4 and their last three margins of defeat were 59, 58 and 39. The Demons failed to score more than 66 in each of those games. Essendon haven’t been great themselves, but they are fresh off a bye and an upset win over Port Adelaide. Eight of Essendon’s nine wins over the last twelve months were by 1-39 margins and seven were by 1-24, so I don’t expect a massive margin of victory. I would back Essendon in the head-to-head at 1.90 (Betfair). Those looking for more risk should back Essendon 1-39 at 2.45 (Dabble).

Port Adelaide vs. Hawthorn |

Hawthorn have gone 11-1 both in the head to head and the line as the favourite over the last twelve months. Port Adelaide won this fixture by a 3-point margin last September, but the Power have been hugely disappointing this season. I would back Hawthorn in the head-to-head at 1.48 (Betfair).
