Crusaders

Crusaders vs. Blues

Blues

The Blues have lost 15 of their last 16 away games against the Crusaders. They have also gone 0-2 as the underdog over the last twelve months. The Crusaders have gone 6-2 at home, both in the head-to-head and the line, over the last twelve months. With Beauden Barrett back again for the Blues, I expect this will be a more competitive contest than the Crusaders’ 23-point win over the Blues earlier in the season. I would back the Crusaders in the head-to-head at 1.55 (PlayUp). Those looking for more risk should consider the Crusaders 1-12 at 2.60 (bet365).

Fijian Drua

Fijian Drua vs. Waratahs

Waratahs

Both of these sides are far stronger at home than they are away. This game is being played at Churchill Park in Lautoka, where the Drua have won eight in a row. Due to the stifling conditions, they are far more formidable at this venue than they are in Suva. The Waratahs have gone 5-0 at home this season but 0-3 away from Sydney. Spanning this year and previous seasons, the Waratahs have lost eleven consecutive away games. I would back the Fijian Drua in the head-to-head at 1.60 (PlayUp).

Chiefs

Chiefs vs. Highlanders

Highlanders

Chiefs’ star fullback Damien McKenzie had a shocker last week as they suffered an upset away defeat in Sydney. That’s actually bad news for the Highlanders, because the Chiefs have gone 4-1 on the back of a defeat (compared to 8-4 on the back of a win) over the last twelve months. They now return to their fortress. Chiefs have won 19 of their last 22 games at FMG Stadium. They have won their last five home games and they have gone 5-2 at the line at home over the last twelve months. The Chiefs have also won their last five games against the Highlanders. The Highlanders have gone 1-6 as the away underdog over the last twelve months. Five of the Chiefs’ six home wins over the last twelve months were by 8+ margins, while four of the Highlanders’ six away defeats were by 8+. I would back the Chiefs in the head-to-head at 1.16 (bet365, BoomBet, PlayUp). Those looking for more risk should consider the Chiefs -7.5 at 1.43 (bet365).
